I am a native and lifelong resident of California and reside in beautiful Sonoma County. I have a strong interest in history and genealogy and, with the help of FINDAGRAVE recently located a number of stones of direct ancestors in New England. While there, I took many photos and would like to share with anyone who is interested.|
Since then, I have added a few more.

|R. Brabec||Sarah Locker death date|
I checked my source and the date is January 4, 1865, according to the January 10, 1865, issue of the Daily Alta Californian, page 5, column 2.
"At Woodside, San Mateo County, Jan 4th, of consumption, Mrs. Sarah Locker, aged 71 years and 11 months."
A number of graves are accidentally noted with incorrect dates either by the informant or the engraver. My grandmother Died in December 28, 1958 but her gravestone reads December 28, 1959 because she was laid to rest in 1959.
Thanks for all your work in posting memorials.

You posted a photo on 13 July 2014. Do you recall when you actually took this picture? The marker is very pronounced easy to read. The other photo posted in 2010 shows a very worn inscription. It appears that you may have taken this photo before 2010. I'd like to know if my observation is correct or if I'm way off. Thank you for your time & assistance. Have a nice Easter.

Thank you so very much for providing Sarah's headstone photo! It is great to confirm the marker's existence and finally see it. Greatly appreciated!!
Hi Eric, Didn.t know if you knew how do do EDITS on Findagrave. Using this function automatically updates your memorials. This is how you do it. Open Findgrave. Click on SEARCH. Next page that comes up will have a box that says CONTRIBUTOR TOOLS. Click on it Next page will have a box at the top that says EDITS. Click on it. Next page will have all the edits on it. Go to the bottom of this page-pages and click on ACCEPT EDITS. Thanks, Paul

Thank you for adding the information to the above memorial.

Just curious, I have Mary dying on 30 Sep 1807 in Braintree, Vermont but I haven't yet found a primary source to verify it. Do you know if that's correct, or do you have a marriage date for her and Nathaniel Flint? (I don't gather detail on non-direct-ancestor siblings but I do their birth, marriage and death dates.) If you don't have the information at hand, don't worry about it though.

Thanks! (Actually, I was kind of disappointed, since I thought I finally actually had a photo of Susannah's grave -- but oh well.)
I know, this is one of those names where the spelling is all over the map -- in my database, I generally use as their primary spelling whatever was on their gravestone (if there is one) or any other official documents -- but this is one where I have noted at least half a dozen other possible versions.
Which child of theirs do you descend from? I actually have two lines from them -- son Joseph and daughter Abigail.

Eric, thank you for the memorial on Thomas Carter and his gravesite. Thomas is my 6th gg.
|Dan Rooney||John Carter|
Eric, I wanted to thank you for posting the photo of the stone of Capt. John Carter that you took this summer. It is so clear, and the details stand out so well. Capt. John is my 8th great-grandfather. I would like to ask if it's OK to copy the photo.
