Bio

My great-great grandfather was a member, and first secretary, of the group that developed Rosehill Cemetery in Chicago, Illinois. One of his grandsons was my grandfather, who got me interested in genealogy nearly 50 years ago when he gave my father a copy of a Sherman Family history published in 1915. I am also very interested in history, especially American history. I have combined my two interests as an officer of Gen. George A. Custer Camp #1, Dept. of Illinois, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, and the Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of Illinois. I am also a Civil War reenactor with Chicago Light Artillery, Battery A. I am 6th generation Chicago area resident. I am married, with no children, but several nieces and nephews.
