I started on this path searching for my families ancestors about four years ago. I've hit so many brick walls that it's slow progress now finding them. So I've turned my attention to preserving the history and the lives of those buried here near my home. It has been an interesting path and I'm enjoying every minute of it. My true passion is writing the history of those buried at the old Paupers Cemetery, now Kootenia County Cemetery not far from my home. It is an old forgot cemetery with a few wooden crosses that don't even have names, simply because other then about five people we don't know where the rest are buried.
