Bio

My name is Gloria (Stanley/Standley)Thomason and I am a family owner and caretaker for Sandridge Cemetery on Highway 20 East from Highway 169. Its location is officially southeast of Collinsville, Oklahoma in Rogers County with the 911 address: 17953 East 116th St. N., Collinsville, OK.

This cemetery was alloted to Minnie Brown, Cherokee, by the government. Then on July 3, 1913 my Great Great Grandfather Martin Stuckey Standley/Stanley bought it from her. To this day it remains in the Standley/Stanley family.

There are erroneous stories that are told that it belonged to the Adkins family which is untrue. It also was never turned over to Rogers County. I have paperwork and deeds that show the facts. I just wanted to make this clear.

We have a strict rule that headstones must be placed within a year after burial or no other family members can be buried in Sandridge. At this time we have several that need headstones and some are many years old. You may need to check to see if your family is one of those. Please place a needed headstone immediately in order to be able to bury.

If you are a volunteer adding names to Sandridge Cemetery make sure that you have facts that they are buried there. You can find the facts on death certificates, funeral records or getting in touch with me. Thank you for your cooperation.
