I am 48 years old and have 3 children. Family history has always interested me. Find A Grave is a great way to help others learn more about their own family's past.|
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
on polished, marbled stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I'd exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
one hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
and come to visit you.

Judy, I know you do a lot of good work at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. I am there a lot myself.
However, My 3rd great grandparents (Balthasar and Franziska Harter) are buried there, but it appears they do not have a headstone. They are very near the entrance (Section D, lot 2, grave 20R & 20L).
I wanted to do a photo request, but, I think it is just they do not have a headstone. I don't want anyone to go out of their way, but if pass Sec D, could you confirm I was not lost and it is only grass.

Thank you for his headstone photo.
|Julia Ather||Sophia Abrams in Mount Hope Cemetery|
I noticed that you have a memorial for Sophia. I happened to snap a picture of her and her husband's gravestone the one time I was in Mount Hope Cemetery, but I really am not from the Rochester area. Would it be all right if I transferred her husband's memorial to you? It makes more sense to me if one person owns the memorials of a married couple, and all you have is Sophia's. Let me know, and I'll transfer Christopher's to you. Thanks.
Thank you for the picture of his headstone

May I use your gravestone photo of my great grand aunt (Sister Mary Vivian Hauser) on my Ancestry.com family tree.

In seeking to fulfill a photo request for someone else in the plot where Julia is buried, I took a photo of her headstone. Not looking to step on your toes but I posted it as the inscription is clearer and it can be enlarged. If you'd like me to remove it, just let me know. No harm.
I noticed that there are duplicate memorials for her, Harry, and Jacob (all Guerinots). One of those for Harry was created by someone else. Just thought you might want to check it out.

Judy, you fulfilled a photo request for these two a while back. I was wondering if it would be possible to get you to re-take the ones with their names so that we can see the entire stone rather than just a close up of the area with their names. Thanks!
Thank you so much for the Moran Pictures from Holy Sepulchre and for all that you do for those of us too far away to visit the cemetery ourselves. Mary
