Bio

Genealogists since 1964, we have photographed nearly every cemetery in Seward and Saline Counties in Nebraska and many in other counties throughout the state. We have also photographed all but one cemetery in Henry County, Iowa. Ann has published three genealogy books and is one of the coordinators for the Henry County, Iowa USGENWEB site.

Ron loves the history of any place which involves ancestors, and loves to take cemetery photographs. We've traveled throughout the country "chasing down" information and photos which relate to not only our relatives, but for other people as well. One of the photos which we uploaded to the Henry County USGENWEB site led to that individual being postumeously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor (his gravesite and all information regarding him had been lost until someone in the Military Department happened upon our photo.) We love doing this!

We've been members of findagrave for six years but just recently began building a virtual cemetery for Beaver Crossing, Nebraska and its two cemeteries, Beaver Crossing Town Cemetery and Calvary Cemetery. Our goal is to have the obituary or funeral pamphlet information as well as some personal stories we are allowed to share with permission of families. We both both grew in Beaver Crossing, and Ann is a 6th generation Nebraskan and a 5th generation Beaver Crossing-ite with relatives throughout the state, especially in Seward and Saline counties. Ron is a 6th generation Beaver Crossing-ite. We also are attempting to include at least one good photograph of each person in our virtual cemeteries.

AN ADDENDUM: Since being on here we have learned that we cannot put on our Beaver Crossing cemetery because it was already taken (very poorly) by someone else who has no history of the town. I sit here with hundreds of photos, obituaries, and personally written family histories supplied TO me by residents of the town and I will NOT add them to the existing ones because of the lack of quality of the pictures that have been taken. So our dream site will be built elsewhere and other pictures will be added on findagrave. Such a loss to those looking for complete stories of their ancestors!
