I became interested in recording tombstone information to Findagrave after finding time-worn stones of my dad's ancestors in a remote little cemetery.|
I love when we can link family members or add personal information and welcome additional information or corrections for any memorials that I have recorded. Per Find a Grave's policy, PLEASE DO NOT SEND OBITUARIES FROM 1922 OR LATER UNLESS YOU HAVE PERMISSION TO DO SO FROM THE NEWSPAPER OR FUNERAL HOME THAT PUBLISHED THE OBITUARY. If you do not have permission, PLEASE RE-WRITE THE INFO AS A BIOGRAPHY IN YOUR OWN WORDS. Please do not include the names of the living UNLESS YOU HAVE THEIR PERMISSION TO DO SO. Thanks for understanding. I have added obituaries in the past but have changed my policy after receiving an email from one of the administrators informing me that doing so was in violation of copyright laws and Find a Grave policy.
Please use the EDIT button on the top right of the memorial page when you want to send a correction since it provides me with the links I need. Please verify and double check your info for accuracy.
Because I receive so many emails, I may not have time to reply back, but the entries will be made.
FINDAGRAVE MEMORIAL TRANSFERS:
Explain your relationship in the request! You need to make the request for transfer via the "Suggest a Correction" link under the "Edit" tab on the memorial.
Findagrave policy states that transfer requests should be limited to DIRECT RELATIVES WITHIN FOUR GENERATIONS. This would be YOUR:
Any non-direct relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) will not be transferred, please don't ask.

I think I sent the wrong edit for the husband of Cordie Ewing Miller # 50698396. It should be Hugh Miller # 50698387. John Slaughter # 50698367 was married to Hugh and Cordie's daughter, Margaret # 50698377. Sorry and thank you for making the corrections.

|Cindi Moyer||Re: Wm and Cynthia Rhinehart|
I am tracing my family back and linking Find a Grave memorial numbers to parents and children.
Today I found the Rhineharts. This is meaningful to me because her step-daughter was my maternal grandmother, and her daughter (my mother) named me Cynthia Anne.
Thank you for taking the time to photo these cemetery monuments!

|Flora Dufresne||RE: Groviene Ham|
I got the name Genevieve, from the 1915 New York State Census. Today I looked at her headstone, which has her name spelled Groviene. Maybe her name should remain as Groviene, as you said, it is written in stone. I don't know the policy on this. --- I am working on my family tree using Ancestry.com, which is where I looked at the 1915 census. --- I noticed some discrepancies with this family as regards to the sister Dorothy, long story. --- I also noticed that, here on "Find a Grave", there are pictures attached to Cora Morrow McLean, and the daughters, of a house, c. 1910. This house is said to be in Gouverneur, New York. This house is also found on Ancestry.com, but it says it is located in Massena, New York. In fact, both are incorrect, it is located in Canton. This house was bought by Florence Morrow in 1948 and used as a boarding house. The McLeans may have lived there but they did not own the house. Florence bought the house from the Jamieson sisters. Cora Mae Morrow has a sister Mable, married to Frank Jamieson, his sisters owned the house from 1909 to 1948...I have the story on my family tree, if you care to look at it. Flora
