Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in the Mississippi Delta. I have been tracing my family history for many years. Some of the families I am researaching (all with southern roots) are: Bennett, James, Skelton, Newton, Howard, Hays, Garner, Little, Westbrook, Warrick, Long, Arbuckle, Blaylock, and Sullivan. If you have relatives in Carroll County and/or Montgomery County, Mississippi in the 1800s, chances are good that our lines cross.

Benjamin F Bennett in Marietta
This is my grandfather. He was born in 1867 in Germany. I got this information from a census and family bible. I no longer have access to the bible. Most of the Bennett families in Georgia have a British origen.

The family name was originally Benet. They were ethnic Germans who lived in a section of France and Germany that was swapped between the countries. When the Germans took over, this family emigrated. I don't know when. I know the brother had the name of Simon. His mother had the last name of Lotheridge which I know is English. From the family story, they anglicized the last name and spoke only English since they were American now.

Benjamin F. Bennett fought in the Spanish American war and was an ambulance driver during World War I. I saw a picture of the soldiers from Georgia and recognized my grandfather and another soldier had to be a close relative because he looked like my brother. Benjamin F. Franklin looked very much like my father.

I hope this helps with your search.

RE: Lehrton Cemetery
Thank you so much. I'll go ahead and add them. I'm specifically working on my extended Nerren family from that area. I live in Los Angeles so it's a little hard for me to go there personally.

Lehrton Cemetery
I'm hoping you can help me.

Do you know if the Lehrton Cemetery would typically be referred to as Ruleville Cemetery?

I've read several obituaries for family members with burial listed as Ruleville and no memorial on Find A Grave. I'd like to add them but I don't want to place them in the wrong cemetery.

You created a memorial for Agnes Davis, #59482715, who is a distant cousin of mine, and her obituary stated Ruleville and you have her in Lehrton Cemetery, so that's why I'm asking you.

Thank you for your time,
Debbie

John Lancaster
Hi. I added his headstone today. While I was out there I also took a pic of Elizabeth Lancaster. I wish I could have gotten the dates but it is over half way buried in the ground.

Lucille Pentecost #67230666
I strongly believe she was the daughter of the senior Albert Louis Pentecost #35795662 &
Nettie Lee Travis Pentecost #35795586 as she indicated on the 1910 census that she had had two children with only one living (Albert Louis Pentecost, jr plus the fact his tombstone matches hers. But I have no proof. I don't know what B & D records exist in Sunflower County, MS for that time period. I know the state hadn't started keeping death records yet. Are they all buried in the same plot?

Here is his wife: 106936817 RE your note I believe he's buried next to her. I took a 2nd look at site & there is a space but no stone. If you have info on him I will add to a list I'm compiling so that I can check against IOOF burial list. It has been tied up w/volunteers from new cem assoc trying to computerize for almost 2 yrs. I can't help as they don't want the books taken out of office & I could only do working from my home - anyway, will put him & any detail you might have on a 'look see' basis - but I believe we're safe to assume he is in IOOF Gwood.

Thomas Arnett Greenville MIssissippi Cemetery
There is a T. C. Arnett and a Mrs. T. C. Arnett both buried in Row 3 Block 96A Plot 3 of the Old Section of the Greenville (Mississippi) Cemetery. I believe that the T.C. Arnett buried there is my great-great-grandfather Thomas C. Arnett who was born June 1854 in Madison County Alabama and died in 1912 in Greenville, Mississippi. His obituary is in the July 5, 1912 edition of the Delta-Democrat. I found a listing of the graves in the Old section of the Greenville Cemetery on the Internet and there is a note saying that T. C. Arnett was the son of a Thomas Coley Arnett buried in the same Row, Block and Plot. I think that is an error. Is there anyone I could contact about taking a photo of the headstone of T. C. Arnett (b.June 16, 1854 - d. June 28, 1912)? I've searched for him for so long, I need to find out where the note regarding what his possible relationship to Thomas Coley Arnett could be (or not be).
Thanks, email: xixn1991@gmail.com
