ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS A NEW SURNAME
Dear Santa; don't bring me new dishes
I don't need a new kind of game.
Genealogists have peculiar wishes
For Christmas I just want a surname
A new washing machine would be great,
But it's not the desire of my life.
I've just found an ancestor's birth date;
What I need now is the name of his wife.
My heart doesn't yearn for a ring
That would put a real diamond to shame.
What I want is a much cheaper thing;
Please give me Mary's last name.
To see my heart singing with joy,
Don't bring me a real leather suitcase,
Bring me a genealogist's toy;
A surname with dates and place.

I see you have Colleen's burial site. I am curious how you found the information. I was at the cemetery and I could not locate her. I am so happy you know her burial location, it will give me a reason to return to Kansas City. Thanks, Charlene
|Sandra J Propst||George Propst #31259137|
This George Propst was my great grandfather and his middle name was Frederick. You have it listed as George L. Propst. Also, I have been trying to find the exact date of his death (he and his daughter Eliza Jane burned in a house fire) in 1907 and was wondering where you found it as Sept 30, 1907. I have been unable to locate any records of his death including no records in the clerk's office in Franklin and the local newspaper The Pendleton Times has no copies before 1944. Any help with this info would be appreciated.

Thank you for updating his memorial. Best regards, Jan

So glad you made a memorial for Dorothy.
While I am related to Forest,nobody knew that he was deceased when his sister Agnes Anderson passed.
(He had been deceased over a year at the time, or the fact that Dorothy and Forest had divorced).
Dorothy's step-son Roy passed away as a result of burns and complications from a fire.(Aug.2009)
And Dorothy's step grandson, Billy Gene also passed,(Apr.2003).
I appreciate the info. you posted on Forest as it shows another page in Forest's life Thanks again.

I am the great-great granddaughter of Mary Jemima Austin Hart. My mother knew her as a child, and my mother's father is Orvis Covell. In an entry here the 2nd husband of Mary JA Hart is listed as Orvis Nicholas Young Hart, and then the name Covell is mentioned without indicating anything about its origin. My mother's maiden name is Covell, Her father's name was Orvis Covell, but that man would have been the son of Mary JA and Orvis NY Hart. Can you tell me where the name Covell comes from?
Also, among the records, it seems that Orvis was adopted. I'm left wondering if I am blood relation to Nancy Ann Lewis, daughter of Lot and Jemima Garwood Lewis.
My quest is to discover the relatives who immigrated from Europe.
Let me know if you want more info from me. Are we kin?
Here is my lineage -- still living: Mother - Mary Louis Covell Cary Father - Eular Harwood Cary. Me: Denise Renee Cary (Durham) Phillips. My brothers: Cary Harwood Cary & Brian Steele Cary

Marion Lee Householder #48436131 and his brother
John J. Householder #48436065, have the exact military and death information on their memorials, is this the correct information? They are distant relatives of my husband's but I know nothing about them, and I am grateful for all your work.

Thank you so much for the info on Henry Cato. I have added it to his memorial page, and given you the credit.
Thank you for all your contributions to this website.
I just wanted to make your aware that a contributor with a burial unknown just moved their memorial for Percy Smith to the cemetery. Please be aware that yours takes precedence in case they try to persuade you to delete yours. Burial Unknowns must be updated within 30 days and theirs was over 2 years ago.
