I live in Port Orange, Florida and have been researching my family since 1977. I enjoy prowling cemeteries and taking photos of the graves. I figured if I'm walking by a grave why not photograph it for someone else. Some of these older stones are rapidly deteriorating and should be photographed as soon as possible before they're gone.|
Also, as a Vietnam vet, I like to honor our service men and women by leaving a virtual flower on their memorial.
I firmly believe we all should learn more of our ancestors and share this information with anyone interested.
My main lines are Orrell, Roberts, Stanley, Alford, Banks, Lowe and Knight. Main states are FL, GA, SC, NC & MD. My wife's lines are Hughart, Carnes & Newhouse of Kanawha Co, WV.

I just wanted to thank you for photographing my grand aunts grave in Holly Hill, Volusia, FL. I have been trying to find out what became of her for some years now. She was born in England but nursed on the troop ships carrying wounded American servicemen from Europe to the US during WW1. I could find not record of her after about 1945 so was very moved to finally see your photo of her final resting place.

|John Wampler||Julia Roberts O'Brien|
Hello Mr. Orrell,
My name is John Wampler. I saw your photos and profile on Find A Grave and decided to contact you for help or information. I am looking for living relatives of Julia Roberts O’Brien, wife of Samuel W. O’Brien, and mother of Alliene O’Brien (Sutton).
As far as I know that is her only child and I haven’t been able to find any children of Alliene.
I’m messagin because I found Julia O’Brien’s old diary from 1935-1939 in an old barn in Asheville, NC.
I’ve transcribed the text and preserved all the photos clippings within as best I can and would like to find a suitable relative to return this family belonging to.
Thanks in advance for all your help,

Thank you for transferring the memorial of my uncle, Thomas Jefferson Kittrell, to me.

|Marvin Kittrell||transfer of Thomas Jefferson Kittrell's memorial page|
Thomas Jefferson Kittrell was a younger brother of my father and his widow was a younger sister of my later mother. I have been working on the Kittrell family history since 1964 and would like to have Uncle Tommy's memorial page transferred to me so I can bring it up-to-date, add information, along with some information about him and his family who are still living in Volusia County where I was born in 1941. My aunt (uncle Tommy's widow, Lucille), still lives in Holly Hill.
His # is 64953657.
I await a reply with the hope you will transfer his memorial to me. If you not willing to do so, please provide your reasoning.

Thank you for the photograph and preservation of it. This is my father's marker and my mother who is buried along side of him. I currently am working on an ancestry family tree for my siblings and this is a perfect addition to the items I am collecting.

I know the memorial has the pic already but neither has her death date inscribed. I had requested a new photo with her death date inscribed. If it is not inscribed with her death date, then what I have is fine.

Thank you so much for your fast edits on these two memorials. I appreciate everything you do to make Find a Grave better!

Hi Robert -
Thank you for all your contributions to the site - but when I click on the grave photo it doesn't get any bigger and I can't read it...
