You are right - some folks do get their bowels in an uproar. I have come into contact with my fair share. I do not care to argue over an ancestor with another ego/pride is not that great. To do so is petty, in my books. :)

I had photographed a great deal of the Kash Cemetery at Landsaw in May of 2008. As I began to post, I drew the ire of a particular member - so I deleted all the pictures except that of my Dad.

I will go look at the Taulbee-Burton then delete my creation ... don't want to confuse anyone ... and the next time I'm there, I'll look closely at the name. :)

Glad you got to make it to the Kash Cemetery yesterday!

Hall vs. Hall-Robinson Cem.
Betty, we do indeed have a problem here, though I'm not sure what the solution is. The two names above seem clearly to refer to the same cemetery. The Hall-Robinson Cem. sites were visited and photographed by Dr. Bill Rice in 2013. The cemetery shows 19 burials, whereas the Hall Cem. shows only 3.

It seems to me that the simpler solution would be for you to delete your two burials and the third one as well so we could get rid of the Hall Cemetery, which is clearly a duplicate.

Dr. Bill was a fine and painstaking researcher, and you notice that he provides an exact description of the route to the cemetery.

What do you think?

I see what I can do. Thank you for the suggestion. I always thought they'd be where it said, but apparently there are several Landsaw cemeteries in Wolfe County, KY near Stillwater.

Landsaw grave site
Betty, According to the "Hursts of Shanandoah," book I've copied part of the description of where they are buried:" They are both buried in the old Landsaw grave yard on Stillwater." I'm unfamiliar with the area and they didn't put the exact location. Lady

I truly don't know. These were taken by my father's 1st cousin years ago. Probably in the 30's or 40's. They may not even be there anymore. She has since past away, so I can't ask her. I assumed it was probably an early family cemetery.

Well .. curiosity killed the cat - so I went back and looked at which cemetery you were referring to. Our family has always called this the "Kash" Cemetery - although it is on here as the Landsaw Cemetery.

Betty, is is extremely easy to find and drive right to the gate. When you turn left (just before the Mtn. Parkway overpass)onto Landsaw Rd - turn the first left into the driveway of the brick house.

This farm belonged to my Uncle Riley Harris and is still in the family. His granddaughter and family live here. When you turn into the driveway, look up to the left and you will see the cemetery. You can drive right up.

Hope this helps, honey!

Hi Betty ... which cemetery are you referring to? I just returned home a couple of days ago and just now logged in here. Sorry to be so slow in returning your mail.

Long Cemetery
Hello. I saw that you posted a photo of this cemetery. Could you provide directions to this cemetery? I would like to add it to a map I maintain of Likins/Likens/Lykins/Lykens/Lycans/Lycan burial sites.

Route number, cross road, would be good. If you use google earth or google maps, a screen shot of the map would be great or just the coordinates from the map.

Thank you,

John Likins

RE: Jerry Coursen
Hey, Betty

No worries. I've deleted the photos I posted. I added two of them because on the one there was a bit of a glare.

Find a Grave should be a place where people help each other, not where people get angry. I printed a list of requests in the morning before I headed off to look for stones. There were none marked "Claimed" at that time. When I got home, I posted them. I always click on the "Fulfill" button, so I should/would have noticed at that time if it had been "Claimed". I don't know why it did not show that way when I uploaded the photo and apologize for you being put in the middle of an unpleasant situation. Wish you would have notified me immediately and I would have deleted the photos then.

Also, thinking back, was this the request where you really wanted a picture of the grave with the flowers from the service on it? . . . it wasn't necessarily the stone/marker you wanted at that time. Too bad you've gone through this work and didn't even get what you originally asked for.

Again, sorry for any stress or hard feelings this may have caused you about Find A Grave. I never would have posted a picture on a memorial marked "Claimed".
