I have been involved in genealogy for almost 50 years. I was excited to find this web page. By posting memorials of those who have passed away,I hope it helps those who are unable to travel to the various cemeteries. Everyone of them has a story to tell, and no one should be forgotten. If I have listed a name which you want removed from this site or if you have a correction, please do not hesitate to contact me. Transfers are welcomed.|

THANK YOU do much Leslie for transferring my Aunt to me. And THANKS for all you do on Find A Grave
Thanks for editing India again. Yes, I did notice info placing Hazel's burial location in Sitka, Alaska, but with no cemetery noted. I do not know if she married, and I cannot confirm a death location or cemetery.
I am inclined to believe that her middle initial of "B" stands for the name "Bell / Belle". Her occupation was stated to be beautician.
birth: 25 August 1899
Murrayville, Morgan Co. Ill.
death: 29 July 1978
Sitka, Alaska at age 79 years
This confirms Hazel's birth month as August:
Here the family is in Colorado in 1920 - no Hazel:
Here shows daughter, Florence and her family, along with Horace and India, in Kansas in 1930:
Here it shows daughter, Florence (married, but hubby is not there), with surname Winters. Horace and India are living with her in Colorado - 1940:
Memorial # 123876789, Richard Winters, son of Florence and Henry. Lived in Sitka. Mentions survivors:
So ... coming up pretty empty with reference to Hazel, but it does appear that she may well have been in Sitka. It seems that perhaps Florence, Hazel, and other family members probably died in Alaska.
So ... you now have full names of Florence and husband, husband's birth place, where they lived, number of children and at least some of their names.
Looks like Hazel and Florence went to Alaska in the 40's, while George went to Washington and Mary Ellen and Lambert remained in Colorado.
I hate not to be able to find Hazel, Florence, Horace, etc, but ... at least you have some info where, if you wish, you can add a little to the bio notes referencing the children on the memorials for India and Horace. Might assist someone else who views the memorial to identify them and maybe come forward with some info.
Hope this helps a little. Good luck!!

Thank you for updating India's memorial.
Per your message; I could not locate three of the children, but I did locate two of them
Child #2, Mary Esther Wyatt Hope, # 26196773, is buried in the same cemetery as her mother. Her husband, Luther, # 26196773, is also buried there. I have requested edits and links. I can only assume that the baby who shares their stone is their daughter.
Child #4, George Robert Wyatt # 8011921. I submitted edits and links for him also. I suspect the Wyatt girls buried in the same cemetery may all be daughters.
Thanks again for dropping a line, and for the updates,

|Irene Smith-Rice||Clark Brown Shane memorial|
Hi Leslie.. Would you by chance be related to Clark Brown Shane? I noticed you submitted this memorial but did not include his common-law wife, Nettie Ritz Shane (my great aunt), who is on the same headstone (I did notice there was no death date noted). Just thought I'd give it a shot and ask (although I'm pretty sure it isn't likely you are related). I have sooo many questions about this couple. Thanks and hope to hear from you. A friend told me about this chance a couple days after this was deployed. I have sent edits to you so I thought maybe you didn't know about it. You might want to pass it on to your friends. thanks!!! ~Peggy
New "Automated" system for "Suggest a Correction/Submit an Edit"
New System for Memorial Edits deployed by FindAGrave on 12/5/2013
Go to your Contributor/Profile page.
Look in the upper right corner. You should now see a tab called "Edits" - check there to see if any have been submitted to you.
Then just review and accept.
Way easier for doing updates to names / dates / places / plot #s.
You still will get e-mails to add info to bio section or do linking.

|C.C.Diamond||RE: ID Military in Westlawn-Hillcrest|
Thank you. We have added him to our list so the grave will get a flag on Memorial Day. Many who have served in the military have no indication on their grave site so we depend a lot on word of mouth to obtain the names so all may be honored/thanked with a flag.
|C.C.Diamond||ID Military in Westlawn-Hillcrest|
We are currently working to identify anyone buried in Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery Omaha NE that has served in the military. If you have a loved one entombed there or no of someone, please send us a message. We place flags on the graves for Memorial Day. This project is sponsored by Centennial Masonic Lodge.
If you can send us the names, we will be sure to include them on our list to get a flag.
Thank you for the help with this ongoing project.
