I started following my family tree over 20 years ago (about 1993). I have been doing research on the Estep's of Carter Co, TN which is my mom's side and mostly Simmons, Spence, Thomas, Landers and Wheeler of WV & VA for my dad's side.
Even though I have been collecting information for awhile, I started adding names and pictures in Jan 2008 to Find a Grave in hopes of helping others and maybe even connecting with more relatives.
Visit my family tree and see if any info looks familiar.
Please use my pictures to assist with your ancestry search. All I ask is that you add my name to wherever they are posted, printed, etc, so that I may get credit for my efforts.
RE: Martha Jane Thomas Wheeler The Old Job Huddleston Cemetery is on the mountain across from the Alloy Plant. We always park at the little post office across the road. There are 30 steps at the bottom of the mtn leading to where the church used to sit. There is a path leading to the cemetery. You can't drive up to it - you must hike up. Power lines separate the bottom section of the cemetery. Martha's grave is on the other side of the power lines on the left near the path but there is only a funeral home marker. I can transfer her memorial to you if you'd like. Sandy
Craig Cemetery Tonya, Can you give me specific directions to the Craig Cemetery in Powellton? I believe my husband's grandmother is buried there, but want to make sure it is the correct Craig Cemetery (Craig Cemetery is what is listed on her death certificate). Thanks so much! Tereasa
Craig cemetery in Powellton Tonya, Can you give me directions to the Craig Cemetery in Powellton? I believe my husbands grandmother is buried there, but not sure if I have the correct Craig cemetery or not. Thanks so much! Tereasa
Burwell Spence Hi Tonya, Rascal Burwell is my 4th great-grandfather, too - through his son John to Benjamin, James, and my lovely grandmother Dulcie who married David Arthur Frazier. Just thought I'd drop a line a say hi to a cousin! Beth Cahill
I was skimming through the interment list for this cemetery this morning, & noticed that your listing for Sarah Brooker is a duplicate of one that Wilbur Dixon created. His is the more complete listing, so I was wondering if you might be willing to see about deleting this one for the sake of accuracy? I'm working with the county archive in surveying one cemetery now for the Preservation Society, & this cemetery is on the list when we get done with that one. I'd love to have the duplicates cleared out of the system before we physically get out there to do the work needed.
RE: The link request you're sending Thanks Tonya! I know I bombarded you with requests. Just remember, if you have questions about any of them to send me a message. I only want the cemetery to be the best that it can be. I am working on Riverside Memorial Park in Jacksonville now. Think I will ever finish? I doubt it! Again, thank you so much for all your hard work. You are like me...you go above and beyond.
