Bio and Links
Bio Photo 3/2015--I would like to get rid of most of my memorials so if you would like transfers please use the correct links for same and I will be more than happy to transfer to you. j

I no longer take stone photos but hope my memorials/photos will help someone with their family genealogy.

I most likely have made mistakes so if you find any, or duplicates, please send me an email with info. and I will be more than happy to correct. If you have additional information I will gladly add to what I already have or will transfer the memorial to you.

{Find a Grave has implemented a new way to submit Edits! Unfortunately, there are far too many members for Find a Grave to notify everyone via email, so it's up to us to get the word out. If every member posts this message (or similar) in their profile, hopefully we can help spread the word.

To suggest a correction (SAC) click on the edit tab of the memorial that needs to be corrected. Then click on the link which best describes where your edit should occur. Enter your correction, when you're done, click submit edit. Your request will be sent to the manager of the memorial and will appear in the managers' profile under the Edits tab.

Managers will no longer receive emails. They must go directly to their profile page and click on the Edits tab. Managers can approve, deny or ignore, suggested corrections. It's quick and easy!

The exception:
Requesting a transfer other corrections are still handled the same way. Click on "suggest any other correction or addition," type your message and press "send this message." The manager of the memorial will receive an email.}

Please DO NOT 'take' my pictures for your use or anyone else's. As a courtesy, please ask.

Hi - I have been putting grave locations on sites for Riverview Cemetery and ran across the following memorial and marker in Riverview
Memorial: 39151593
After doing some searching ran across her at Thornrose, following memorials:
Memorial 38852794 and
Memorial 38852826
Apparently she in buried in Thornrose and the marker in Riverview was informational only.
My take is 2 of these need to be deleted and I will message LNM and let her know. I am going to
put the pic of the info marker with John and reference that she is at Thornrose.
Thanks for your help on this.
Regards - Beth Brady

RE: Byers Memorial
Thank you I so appreciate the memorials that you have transferred. That button "I'm not a robot"... is what it is and does serve a purpose.

Kind regards,

Walker tranfers
I've really taken comfort from seeing your initials on so many of my Augusta County ancestors' memorials over the years. I quickly learned that you would courteously consider my contributions and comments. Sorry to see you giving up so many memorials. Hope everything is all right.

Most of the Walkers in the county are also connected to my mother's ancestors. I've researched them considerably and would be happy to have them transferred to me.

Samuel C. Byers 59179121
I'm having a problem with the "I'm not a robot" button.
Also I will gladly take any and all of your Byers memorials and there linked relatives. Most of them are my ancestors.

By his own account Samuel’s father, Joseph Byers, returned to Pennsylvania around 1796 and did not return to Virginia until 1827. This explains why his son Samuel, although born in Augusta Co., “in 1808 came from Pennsylvania and established his home in Augusta Co., near Burketown. He settled there in the woods, cleared away the timber and helped bring under cultivation some of the fertile land of the Co.. Sam Byers was of Scots-Irish ancestry,... and by trade was a pump-borer, making the old fashioned wooden pump.” (History of Virginia - Biography, vol. IV, 1920)
He learned this trade from his father as revealed in the Byers Family Papers. In 1808 he would have been 14 and probably moved back to Augusta County because he had relatives on both sides of his family living there. His mother was Elizabeth Blair, eldest child of James and Jean Blair.
The area Samuel settled, "two miles North of Mt. Sidney" eventually became known as Byers Hollow and the stream which runs through the area is known as Byers Branch. The last visible remains of the original building are two chimneys and a foundation standing against the tree line to the southwest of US Route 11 and State Route 646 and to the west of Byers Creek.
According to the 1885 Historical Atlas of Augusta Co., VA, Sam, Jr. owned the property immediately to the southwest of the same intersection and in the vicinity of what today is the Old Dominion University, north of the intersection of Rt 928 and Lee Hwy 11. This was probably the location of Sam and Nancy’s home. Sam's older brother, James, resided in the Moffet's Branch area of Augusta Co.

RE: HARMAN transfers
So very sorry I thought I was doing the request the way it was stated. Edit it would bring up an address to click on and e-mail would come up. On Subject line I made a request, below it would show the memorial requested. I feel terrible causing you so much difficulties.

I was going to request Roudabush transfer but I will pass.

I wrote you a note last night asking for the easiest way.
