I was born and raised in South Carolina, but moved to Europe in 2007 to marry the love of my life. We lived in Northern Germany until 2012, when we moved back to America to be closer to my family.. and were blessed with a daughter in February 2013. My life is full and very busy now. Being a mother is the journey of a lifetime, and one I never thought I'd get to take.. and it's been wonderful so far (even with the lack of sleep).|
My grandmother got me interested in family history about 12 years ago, and graciously allowed me to be the keeper of her research.. she had been tracing our roots for over 30 years.
Now that she has passed on, I have become the Family Historian and the keeper of records. It is a life-long journey that continues to fascinate, amaze and sometimes puzzle me.. but the path has taught me the value of patience and perseverance - both valuable life lessons.
I have expanded the foundations of my grandmother's research over the years, and now have a large database that grows ever larger! If anyone is interested in my family branches, I will be happy to share and exchange information.
Research branches include (in A-Z order):
- North Carolina -
Albright, Collins, Efland, Fowler, Grant, Gulledge, Haney, Harrell, Hasty, Helms, Rogers, Smith, Stegall, and Swanner.
- South Carolina -
Cameron, Dean, Elliott, Grant, Gulledge, Hasty, Horton, Hough, Hunter, Kershaw, Nelson, Nettles, Peach, Peavy, Rogers, Roscoe, Smith, Steen, Truesdale/Truesdel, West, Williams and Young.
- Tennessee -
Albright, Carroll, Ford, Foust/Faust, Gibbs, Graves, Irwin, Loy, Miller, Ridenour, Rosier/Rozier, Sharp, Snodderly, Steiner/Stoner, Stooksbury, Tillman and Wilson.
I may be missing a few, but will update them as I find others.
FOR ALL EDITS, ADDITIONS, CORRECTIONS AND TRANSFER REQUESTS FOR MEMORIALS I HAVE ADDED OR MAINTAIN - PLEASE USE THE EDIT BUTTON ON THE MEMORIAL (SAC). PUBLIC MESSAGES LEFT ON MY PROFILE MAY NOT BE UPDATED, AS I DO NOT ALWAYS CHECK MY PROFILE FOR THESE MESSAGES.

What comes off as RUDE is a young person as yourself that can never say thank you and always got excuses as "I have a 13 month old child"..Do you not think we ALL have some sort of excuse if we wanted to address that??
I thank you for making the changes for correctness and people from the "Old School" as i use capital letters to "Point Out" NOT scream as you say!!
|Charles Brooks||RE: Your Remark|
"FYI, when SACs are allowed 30 days for updating in any case, and I am well within that time period."
Why could you NOT just say 'Thank You" instead of assuming i was rushing you??I NEVER said one thing about ASAP.I believe i know Find A Grave regulations that people hide behind sometimes!
|Charles Brooks||RE: Edna Adeline Hasty|
As for her marriage to a Thompson.It must have been in South Carolina as her father died 28 Mar 1859 in Monroe,Union County, North Carolina in a buggy accident where he had jumped out of a runaway buggy en route to Lancaster, South Carolina with his son John G. Doster..he was run over by the buggy and died 28 mar after the accident which occurred on 21 Mar 1859. His wife Martha "Patsy" Powell Doster died 3 Feb 1878 in Union County, North Carolina..both of these dates are supported by newspaper clippings..which i have.

Her mothers maiden name is Doster not Thompson. I see you added my other links i sent you but you did NOT change her mother from Edna Adeline Thompson Hasty to the correct title Edna Adeline Doster Hasty.
Her fathers name was James M Doster who married Martha "Patsty" Powell.
