|Please feel free to use any pics that I post on Findagrave and please contact me about any changes or transfers. I took them for each of you to have!|
I have been doing genealogy for about 5 years now. My sister and I have been going to different cemeteries around our county and taking pictures of headstones and adding them. We have been successful at finding a few cemeteries hidden on people's properties. We do not have family ties in these cemeteries, we do it to help everyone else. We also do it to document old graves before they are long gone and no one knows they were there. I have been searching for several family graves in other states for years. I hope someone comes across them one day and I hope we come across one that you are looking for one day!

Mary wrote the following poem:
From: “Clinch Valley News”
Tazewell, Tazewell, VA
Friday, March 29, 1940
A tribute of love and devotion to the memory of my loving son, James Asbury, who left us 2 years ago, March 16, 1938
The month of March is here again
It’s the saddest day in the year
For two years ago today
My loving son passed away
Peaceful be thy rest, dear Jimmie
Tis’ sweet to just call your name
In life we loved you so dearly
In death just the same
In our aching hearts your memory lingers
You were faithful, loving, true
There is not a day that passes
That we do not think of you
You, were gone Jimmie
For only a little while
We will never have another
To fill your place and smile
Little did I think the last time I saw your sweet smiling face coming up the steps with all of your loved ones, Dec. 25, to celebrate that great day with mother, that was the beginning of heart aches.
Mary C. Shrader
I copied this at the Tucson, AZ Main Library from interlibrary loan microfiche in 2000
…as I was making books about Tazewell Co VA for my mom, Hettie Marie (Shrader) Eagle, 1918-2006. Mom is double kin to all the Shrader & Sluss families.

Just wondering if you are a relative of Ethel Jane? She was my grandmother via my Dad (Eli Francis Critch).

Thank you so much for the very nice quality photo. I really appreciate it. Carole
|Steve Orso||Photo request for William J Kester|
No death date listed; suspect plot and marker were purchased pre-need and either have not been used or will not be used. Numerous Kester's nearby.

The staff at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Virginia do not have any record of the burial. If you proceed thru the funeral home and find a square/plot number or a different name for this person I would be happy to photograph it for you.
I noticed you had a photo request at the Joyce Family cemetery on Smith Ridge in Tazewell Co., VA.
I was wondering if you know if John R. Joyce b: 1898 & D: 1961 sp: Virginia Griffitt & Gertrude Lockhart is buried there?
Eager to hear from you

|cynthia mullens||Regarding Simpson Chapel Cemetery|
I believe Simpson Chapel was destroyed with the building of the Summersville Lake. All known interments in Gad were moved to Dotson-Simpson, including Dotson, Simpson, Neff, Bailes, and others. The memorial for Mrs. Laura Brown may be a duplicate, but I don't believe there's any such thing as Simpson Chapel Cemetery any more.
Some of my family was reinterred as well. I have them listed in both places (original interment and the place where they now rest at Dotson Simpson) because the death certificate says the original interment location and genealogists in our family, future and present, may look for the old cemetery not realizing the family member is no longer there. I am surprised to find out in my own searches how many remains are moved around.
