We will only transfer memorials to direct family members. We are willing, however, to do corrections to the memorial or link to other family memorials.

The fall of 2008 we were asked to share our pictures with the Arkansas Grave Stone Project in Garland, Hot Spring, Dallas, Logan, Hempstead Counties. Arkansas. Thank you so much for recognizing our work.

We have also posted pictures on The Melting Pot Genealogical Society, Hot Springs, Ark. and Louisiana Gravestone Project.

Transfer of Memorials
Would you consider transferring management of memorials 28339008 - Adam Bunyan Giles and 28339009 -Ellen Green Harris Giles to me. They are my great grandparents on my mother's side. Viola Giles Messer, their daughter is my grandmother. Thank you.

Rapides Cemetery
The Historic Rapides Cemetery Preservation Society is working on plotting the graves and repairing some monuments/markers. They are looking for family members to share any stories that they might have, to identify unmarked burials, and to maintain their family's plot. Fundraisers are being planned to raise money for the project. The Society has consulted with gravestone preservationists and is using D/2 biological solution (no wire brushes) to clean the gravestones.

RE: Robert Jacob Wike, Sr
I don't have an obituary for this person. I received a request from his daughter to enter a memorial for him in Find-A-Grave. She said the family didn't have the money to bury him, so he was cremated. He and his son were both veterans. That's all I know about this family. Regards.

Rapides Cemetery
A Grant has been acquired to clean up & restore the old Rapides Cemetery in Pineville, LA. As a result some of the headstones have become more legible & new photos are being taken.

RE: Kenion Tarpley Hulsey
The short answer is possibly, but I am not 100% sure that the one you ask about is his son. Until I have more proof I'm giving it a 95%. :)

Kenion Tarpley absolutely had a son on the 1870 Jefferson Co AL census listed as K T age 8. An 1887 newspaper article in Little Rock AK, mentions "Kinney" as the brother of "our sheriff J P Hulsey" which is Joseph Pate, oldest son of Kenion Tarpley. I haven't viewed Kennie Kirklands death certificate but the LA Death Index shows that he was b. est 1865 in Birmingham AL. At the time Kenion Tarpley Hulsey's son in question was born, they lived in Warrior, Jefferson Co AL which is about 30 minutes north of Birmingham just before you cross the next county line. Birmingham is also in Jefferson Co.

It makes sense to me that Kennie Kirkland is K T from the census even though I always leaned toward K T being Kenion Tarpley Jr until I came across all the trees on Ancestry linking Kennie Kirkland and started searching him. Don't have a clue where the Kirkland might have come from.

Are you related?

Best regards,
Debbie Hulsey Zouras

Norman Cauley-14744383
Thank you so much for the great photos of Norman (& Eva) Cauley's headstone. Interesting that part of the burial site is above ground. Do you know why they would have done that? Regards, Kaye
