RE: Lucy A Gray
No, the birth date is probably correct. The other member, who is related to Lucy ANN Badgett, has the same birth date as is on the stone. The engraving of wife of "O M" Gray might be wrong.... Her husband was James Matthew Gray, so it should say wife of "J M" Gray. But, maybe you just mis-read it? Some of those inscriptions are difficult to read, especially if the stones are weathered.

RE: Lucy A Gray
Judi-

I have corresponded with another member who is related to Lucy ANN Badgett. She has the same birth date for her as you have on the stone. But, this Lucy ANN had different parents. I think the inscription says (or was meant to say "wife of J M Gray," not "wife of O M Gray". You would be better able to see that than I can.

The stone for James M Gray is identical to the one for Lucy A Gray, so I think this is Lucy ANN Badgett Gray, buried in the same cemetery as James (M)atthew Gray.

I compared the US 1850 Census for the families of Lucy ANN Badgett and my great-grand aunt, Lucy Forkner and her husband, Burrell Badgett. They did not have a daughter named, Lucy, on that Census, while the other family did.

The Family Trees called ""my" Lucy Badgett, Lucy ALICE Badgett. I can find no evidence of her anywhere. If she existed, she must have died in between the Census. I don''t think the Lucy A Gray in your photo is connected to my family, even though the Family Trees think she is. I think they have "your" Lucy mixed-up into my family.

I hope all this confusion was not too much for you. But, maybe it will help someone else who has the same questions. I have written to the tree owners who have Lucy ALICE Badgett as Lucy A Gray in their trees on other matters. I never get a response, so I wonder if the tree owners are even alive anymore. I can't expect any help from them, so my conclusion is that Lucy ALICE Badgett never married a Gray and if she existed, she died young.

Clyde Badgett
Judi,

You posted a picture on findagrave for Clyde Badgett in Mt Olive Cemetery in Knoxville. Would you mind if I use this picture of my family tree on ancestry.com?

Edward Lee Myers #104260601
Hi, Judi,
I noticed you had a memorial for Mr. Myers. Do you have any information on him. I have been trying to find someone who knows about his Book "Cades Cove and Chestnut Flats". I would love to be able to purchase said book.
Help would be appreciated.

Ft. Lincoln Cemetery
Please call Ft Lincoln at 1-301-887-4930 and get Locations for your loved ones, 2 requests at a time. Add them to your photo request and you will be more likely to have them fulfilled. You may have to call several times to get that info. They are very hard to get info from.
