Minnie Edwards
Hi Bill! We connected a few months ago on Ancestry. I saw your photo request for Minnie in Herrin City Cemetery and I do not have a pic of her grave but I do have several pics of her & her daughters on Ancestry. Also her parents & sibs AND her grandmother Nancy Brandon 1843-1927. Her father's parents were William Ward 1936-1895 & Eliza P Rushing 1835-1902.Both were born in TN & according to census records all of their parents were born in N.C. I can't find William's parents & I think Eliza's were Whitmill Rushing & Catherine Nin, but I am not sure. Are you related to Eliza?

Two Rushing Cemeteries in Walthall Co.
I visited the Rushing Cemetery
off airport road near Tylertown, Walthall, Mississippi and DID NOT find the following headstones: Horold Pine Johnson; Lawrence Washington Johnson; Nancy Matilda "Nannie" Rushing Johnson. This is a small cemetery sometimes called the Samuel Elisha Rushing Cemetery.
These records also show at the other Rushing Cemetery with headstones.

Please delete your records.

Carolina Memorial Park has stopped helping those of us that try to take pictures of headstones. We used to be able to give them the name of the person and they would show us on a map which section and plot the person was buried in. It is an extremely large cemetery and this was very necessary. Now they will not tell us anything unless we can prove we are family. I was told that you will have to go on their website at and contact them directly or you can write to them at:
7113 Rivers Ave.
North Charleston, South Carolina 29406
You can also phone them at: (843) 797-2222
If you can find out the section and plot number (or the mausoleum and crypt number) I can find it easily but if you can only find out the name of the section or mausoleum they are buried in I will be happy to go and try to find their headstone for you but it is impossible without at least knowing that. You can contact me at
Thanks, Pamela

May I ask which Horne line you are researching? Many of my Horne's are buried at Gilead in Jonesville. If we are researching the same line, I would love to compare notes and find out if we are related!
