This is part of my family, The spelling has changed several times over the last 265 years.
Starting with , Cannaday, Canaday, Kennaday, Kenaday, Kenadis and Canada when the families came from North Carolina the spellings was Canaday and Kennedy.
As you may know the name is usually butchered by the census taker.
Have a Great Week

I've deleted my memorials for Lavinia Gillette and her husband. I did re-link her son to the original memorial. Barry Foster

You are very welcomed, I will try to get a better one, Im heading over there as soon as the ground dries up a bit. I tried to find a few more but from the snow melting and now all the rain its a big swampy mess and im really short legged, lol. Its nice to see someone caring for the graves of loved ones. All my family is 100miles away so I know how it feels not to be able to see them or even know what the headstone turned out to look like. Have a blessed holiday/weekend

I found the block and lot number for Alice (listed as Block 30 lot 9) was inverted in the listing. Her husband is Block 9 Lot 30!. This was after I took a picture of a "no stone" site, which I removed. I will go back to the cemetery in a few days to the correct site. I have corrected the block/lot number in the listing.

I am the great great granddaughter of Green Jackson Nichols, whose Find A Grave Memorial #130248895 you have posted. I'd appreciate it if you could give me the source of the information posted on that memorial. It is very different from what I found in researching him. I offer for correction to your information the following:
Green Nichols first married Susan ?? about 1846-1847, probably in NC or perhaps Morgan Co., AL. They had two children Mary and James, and she likely died about 1850 in Morgan Co., AL. He then married Ruth M. Duncan, probably in 1850 in Marion Co., AL. Ruth Duncan was born about 1820 in TN. Green Jackson Nichols died 6/22/1894 in Lamar Co., AL, as evidenced in the following news article: Per http://genealogytrails.com/ala/lamar/deaths_n.html: "From the Vernon Courier, Vernon, Lamar Co., AL, T.J. Young, editor and publisher, dated Thursday, 6/28/1894: "Nichols, Green - Uncle Green Nichols died last Friday night (6/22/1894) at his residence near this place. He was past eighty years of age and the father of eighteen children."
It is possible Ruth Duncan was of Native American descent, but it is, to my knowledge, not yet proven. If she is, she is part Chickasaw from her paternal probable great grandfather Chief George Colbert and part Cherokee from her maternal probable great great grandfather Chief Doublehead. Can you give me the source of this Native American connection?
My email is firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to hearing from you.
|Gone but not forgotten||Crunk duplicate|
I have not deleted the duplicate because there are good photos attached to that memorial. I have contacted the member that placed the photos and have asked him to move them to the other memorial. When that is done I will be happy to delete the memorial. Thanks
When I first started on Find A Grave, I sent the description of how my dad's older brother died at age four. The contributor turned me in to Katrina. This is what I received from her:
Please do not send graphic biographies to add to memorials or add them to memorials that you have added. There are children that use Findagrave for school reports and such. Please refrain from describing details of horrible events that may have occurred in the persons life or death.
For that reason, I cannot add the information you sent on his death. I hope you understand.

I recently assumed the maintenance of Memorial # 25946817 - Ruby Mae Douthit Randquist. I notice that you recently added a flower to this memorial and referred to Ruby as the "2nd wife of uncle of Ed BINGHAM." I have no information about Mr. Bingham or his marriage to Ruby and am hoping you might be able to share some information with me. Sincerely,

Zeno's mom, Decie and my great grandmother, Effie Brown were sisters. I tried to include the headstone to Henry yesterday but the site said I couldn't because it was waiting for edits submitted by me. But I was successful this morning. I'm glad to help however I can!
