RE: Augustus Marion
I accidentally clicked on the wrong photo request. I am visiting in the area and will try to find this grave and make a photo.

Frances Furr
I've been tracing some ancestors of the Padgett-Hoffman bloodlines. I couldn't find the connection I was looking for (I'm not sure if the Eliza Jane Hoffman who married Daniel W. Padgett is the daughter of Elizabeth Holder Hoffman). Anyway I was looking at the Padgett lines. Theodosa (Dosia) Pritchard or Prithard Padgett was the daughter of Daniel Padgett and Eliza Jane Hoffman. Theodosa went by her middle name which is Pritchard/Prithard. She married Nathaniel Franklin Furr in 1901. According to his Estate papers, they had two children: Edith Marie (b. 1903) and Frances (b. 6 Apr 1908). Nathaniel died in May 1908. Prithard died in 1913 of tb. According to the 1920 US census, Edith and Frances were living with their Padgett grandparents in Gastonia. Theodosa Prithard Furr is #84128117 and Nathaniel Furr is #84128116 if you want to link Frances to them. I'm positive that I have the right Edith M. Furr now linked to them (it's pending) but I'm not 100% positive your Frances Furr Ray is their daughter but souces do point in that direction.

RE: Rev. Wm. P. DeFEE # 80849970
I have no documentation that Nancy Partee Defee was my great-great-great grandmother. Just noted the coincidence that Hopewell Hugh Adams married Mary Jane DeFee, and they had sons named James and Noah and a daughter Caroline, who married Geo. Nealand Tribble. Caroline's brother Noah lived in the Tribble household, which neighbored my great-grandfather James A. Adams and his wife Mary Jane Tillis in Shelby Co.in 1880. I have been told by a cousin that James A. Adams's father was Thomas Jefferson Adams, who fought at Goliad and San Jacinto and possibly in the Regulator-Moderator War. Thomas Jefferson Adams and spouse Rebecca Dailey also had a son named James listed in the censuses, who named one of his sons Noah. Unless I can prove that J. A., N. A., and W. F. Adams inherited the land listed on the 1887 Tax List of Shelby County, I'll probably never be positive about it in my own mind.

Thank you for your interest.

Wm T. DeFee married Nancy Partee and they had a daughter named Mary Jane. My great grandmother was Mary Jane Adams and lived in the same area of East Texas.

Wonderful memorial! Any chance Nancy Ann Partee was of Native American heritage? Their daughter Mary Jane might have been my g-g-grandmother.

Chalk one up for you! I sent an sac and told her I knew her memorial was not in the correct cemetery before mine and that according to findagrave policy hers should be deleted. She said nothing, but she did delete it!

Again...thanks! If I'm in the wrong, I will gladly do whatever it takes to correct my mistake, but I don't like it when people try to sneak around and tell me I've done something wrong when I haven't.

RE: George washington ferrell #160956325
Thanks for the info! I sort of guessed that was what happened.

I did get an sac from her, telling me I had created a duplicate and that I should transfer my photos and information to her memorial and delete mine.

I don't mind doing that if that is what really happened, but it annoys me when people try to get around the rules this way. (plus if she wanted to add the bio info, what's holding her back??)

idk....

again...thanks for your information. I'll let her know that mine is not the duplicate (don't know if that will indeed change her mind, but I'll keep an eye on it)

George washington ferrell
You recently sent me info for George's memorial. Today I received notice that my memorial was a duplicate and that made me wonder why you sent the info to me rather than the other contributor.

Now, I know I'm not perfect, but I try really hard not to make duplicates. The timing of all this just makes me wonder whether, in fact, my memorial was a true duplicate in this cemetery.

Just wondering if you can shine any light on this.

Thanks!

Carol
