Groton NH Greetings, Just wanted to offer my services if you need any research done in Groton, Hebron or Bristol for any of your family names. I am a Cemetery Trustee in Groton and would be happy to help if there is information you need.
Blissveld Romance Hello Jim, Nice to hear from you! John Alexander Covode's house stood at 458 Fulton Street, E. Grand Rapids, in the "Heritage Hill" neighborhood. It appears to have been torn down some time ago and replaced with an apartment building. Hope this helps. Lewis
Many thanks for your note on the 100th anniversary of the small film produced in Grand Rapids. To the best of my knowledge, my grandmother (Margaret C. Blair), her first cousin (Margaret Covode) and her aunt (Blanche Covode) took part in the little drama. Some of it was filmed at John A. Covode's home in Grand Rapids.
It will be wonderful if you are able to locate a photo of my great-grandfather. I have one of his father, James Blair, which came from the Public Library thanks to your efforts as I recall a while back.
I have been trying in vain to locate a decent photo of my great-grandfather. Would you know of any source there in Grand Rapids? I have been using the newspaper photo from his obit, which is very poor quality. Since he was well known in the city, I would think that a good photo of him must exist there.
