Hello Winslow,

Many thanks for your note on the 100th anniversary of the small film produced in Grand Rapids. To the best of my knowledge, my grandmother (Margaret C. Blair), her first cousin (Margaret Covode) and her aunt (Blanche Covode) took part in the little drama. Some of it was filmed at John A. Covode's home in Grand Rapids.

It will be wonderful if you are able to locate a photo of my great-grandfather. I have one of his father, James Blair, which came from the Public Library thanks to your efforts as I recall a while back.

Look forward to hearing more news.

RE: KIMM Lineage
Jim, I found Ruth in Woodlawn Cemetery and made a Memorial for her with your information. I have also linked her to her parents and 2nd husband William Beckwith.

Hello Mr. Winslow Jr,

I have been trying in vain to locate a decent photo of my great-grandfather. Would you know of any source there in Grand Rapids? I have been using the newspaper photo from his obit, which is very poor quality. Since he was well known in the city, I would think that a good photo of him must exist there.

Best wishes,

RE: John A. Covode search on
Hi Jim,

Thanks a lot for the information on John A. Covode, along with the interesting web site details. There is another contributor who should be visiting Oakhill Cemetery today to search for Blair & Covode lots. This will be very interesting for my part of the family "back East" and the few with whom I have contact in Grand Rapids.

RE: John Covode Photo Request
Hello, Thank you for your messages. John Alexander Covode is our family member, who lived most of his adult life in Grand Rapids, having been born in Westmoreland County, PA. I know nothing of the film to which you refer, which sounds quite fascinating. I assume that he, like his sister Emma Blair, is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, but I am not certain. John's daugter, Margaret (Covode) Lund (my grandmother's first cousin) lived most of her adult life in Mass. I do not know the name of John's wife.
