WINTER 2016 MESSAGE:|
We recently moved to Salem, Oregon, so are behind on our edits. But we will get to yours as soon as we can! Sorry for any delay.
My husband and I enjoy finding monuments for other people and am extremely grateful to the volunteers who have found my own people for me. We've been working on finding the little pioneer cemeteries in the area and putting their inhabitants online. Four of our memorial pages even helped to catch a gravestone thief. Cemeteries are extremely vulnerable to vandalism, theft, and the damage of time and weather. We appreciate all of the volunteers out there who are working so hard to document them before they are lost to history.

I'm not a numbers addict or collector, but I adhere to Findagrave policy:
◊Find A Grave's primary purpose is a graves registration website.
◊Find A Grave's secondary purpose is a memorialization/remembrance site.
◊Find A Grave's tertiary purpose is a genealogical resource.
Transfers are only made within the guidelines set up by Find A Grave. These guidelines are in place for a reason - whether one cares to accept them or not. I am not going to debate what the owner has deemed acceptable for his site with members who choose not to agree with the guidelines. "The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it." I am willing to consider transferring ownership to you if you have a close family member among my records. I rarely transfer relationships more distant than first cousin... just having someone "in my family tree" or "a relative" will not elicit a transfer.
If you want information added to a memorial, go to the memorial and use the "Edit" tab to send me the information-- including family links. I will add information to the memorial, I do not transfer just because someone wants to add links or other information. Bottom line: what are you planning on doing with the entry that I haven't already done or am unable to do?
On the other hand, if you upload family photos or in some other way add value to the memorial, I am much more willing to transfer. I will always transfer a memorial if you sponsor it.
I welcome all corrections to my own work. Some records were imported using OCR so have inevitable errors, both from the original records and from machine interpretation. I am only human and make mistakes, too, but will always make it priority to correct them.

Removed. Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to find the originals and upload to the correct one
|Steven Hoffman||Melvin Leonard Larson: Found!|
Hi, I've sent you suggested edits for Melvin's parents. I am happy that Melvin can now be connected with his family in Wisconsin. Melvin is my grandmother's brother. Now, if I can just find his brother, Lawrence Austin Larson, who lived in Hood River! I'll send (via edit) some good pics of Melvin & his wife soon. Thanks so much!

I am so grateful for that photo; I have been contacted by a grandchild of his and was going to tell her that his grave didn't have a headstone, but checked the memorial again and found your wonderful photo...will make sure she sees the memorial. Makes such a difference for the relatives, especially when they live far away from the gravesite. :) So thank you again.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the excellent photo on the memorial for William Worth Blakeslee. Was it a difficult-to-find stone? Some time ago I had corresponded with another volunteer who informed me that there wasn't a headstone for William. I visited the memorial today and saw your wonderful photo. Thank you very much.

Hi Carrie, I sent a message to you for information I am requesting be added to Juliann Searles bio section. It appears she had a fourth child her parents raised but was mentioned in her obituary when she died.
|Londa Wheatley||RE: Albert Nelson 16825471|
Sorry, I hadn't refreshed my memory all the way. The DC does go with the memorial you created, but the picture goes with the Albert Nelson in Lane County. Please refer to the mem# 5556398 I listed in my first response.
|Londa Wheatley||RE: Albert Nelson 16825471|
Thanks for your response. The DC and picture of Albert go together.
They should both be on mem# 5556398. Can you please put your photo on that memorial and I will do the same with his DC.
|Hardy Flanagan||RE: Dresbach photos|
Glad I could help. Quick question to they look alright to you. They looked "squished and blurry" to me on the memorial page but ok when you click on them. I'm not sure if I may have a camera, photo, or computer problem. Thanks Hardy
Your photographs are just excellent! Thank you!
