My husband and I enjoy finding monuments for other people and am extremely grateful to the volunteers who have found my own people for me. We've been working on finding the little pioneer cemeteries in the area and putting their inhabitants online. Four of our memorial pages even helped to catch a gravestone thief. Cemeteries are extremely vulnerable to vandalism, theft, and the damage of time and weather. We appreciate all of the volunteers out there who are working so hard to document them before they are lost to history. |

I'm not a numbers addict or collector, but I adhere to Findagrave policy:

◊Find A Grave's secondary purpose is a memorialization/remembrance site.
◊Find A Grave's tertiary purpose is a genealogical resource.
Transfers are only made within the guidelines set up by Find A Grave. These guidelines are in place for a reason - whether one cares to accept them or not. I am not going to debate what the owner has deemed acceptable for his site with members who choose not to agree with the guidelines. "The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it." I am willing to consider transferring ownership to you if you have a close family member among my records. I rarely transfer relationships more distant than first cousin... just having someone "in my family tree" or "a relative" will not elicit a transfer.
If you want information added to a memorial, go to the memorial and use the "Edit" tab to send me the information-- including family links. I will add information to the memorial, I do not transfer just because someone wants to add links or other information. Bottom line: what are you planning on doing with the entry that I haven't already done or am unable to do?
On the other hand, if you upload family photos or in some other way add value to the memorial, I am much more willing to transfer. I will always transfer a memorial if you sponsor it.
I welcome all corrections to my own work. Some records were imported using OCR so have inevitable errors, both from the original records and from machine interpretation. I am only human and make mistakes, too, but will always make it priority to correct them.

Hi Carrie & Allen,
I found Curtis Peterson's obituary in my grandmother's scrapbook. My grandmother passed away in 1997 and she saved obituaries of family and friends. I believe Curtis' grandparents in Donnybrook (Mr. & Mrs. Miller) were friends. I'm sending it on the SUGGEST ANY OTHER CORRECTION OR ADDITION link, with hopes that you will add it to his memorial. Thanks for your consideration. Sincerely, Nancy Zeltinger Austin - Contributor #47321269

Hi-- I see you have created a monument for Job Burden in Yamhill County. I believe he died in Polk County. See:
Are you still putting information on your memorials. I have been sending some along, but have decided if you are not posting them, I am wasting my time. I will not send anymore until I hear whether you are or not. Thanks.....

Thank you for creating and updating Leonard Geiger's memorial, linking him to his parents and family.
All the best,

Looks like a type-o in memorial # 29608015. Year of death should be 1939, headstone agrees. Have used the edit function to assist in the correction. Thank you for creating the memorial.

I read your profile statement regarding use of photos. I would like to copy gravestone photo to my Ancestry Family Tree and will source you as the credit as you stated.
Thank you, Pioneersearcher # 47016656
|Steven Michael||Antelope Cemetery - OLD|
Hello Carrie and Allen,
I am planning a trip to Antelope Oregon...and a few other locations...and I am wanting to photograph both the Antelope Cemetery and the Old Antelope Cemetery. The Old one is on private property. Who would I ask to get permission to visit the cemetery?

Thank for adding Infant Schlegel's father to the memorial.
