I currently live in Fleming Island, FL near Jacksonville, but was born in Waterloo, IA and raised in Grundy Center, IA. I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa. I'm married to Deborah Jean Huebner Pike and we have one daughter, Jennifer Rae Pike who lives near Dallas, TX.

I work on Pike family genealogy off and on. I am a direct descendant of the famous Robert Pike of Salem, MA at the beginning of this country. Direct descendants from my father backwards are Luverne Carl Pike, Verne Clement Pike, Joseph Lord Pike, Clement L. Pike and Gilman Pike.

I also do research on the submarine USS Squalus which sank off the coast of Portsmouth NH in 1939. They Navy was able to rescue 33 crewmen, but 26 sailors lost their lives in the flooding of the aft end of the boat. She was later raised and recommissioned USS Sailfish and had a successful career in the Pacific during WW II. My father served on the Sailfish.
