I was born in Stillwater, OK, in 1978, the daughter of John William & Ann Marie Handy Carter, and grew up in Memphis, TN, Clinton, NY, and Concord, NC. I claim upstate New York as home because that is where my entire ancestry is from. I currently live in Louisville, KY. I am married since 2001, and have two sons born in 2004 & 2011. I have been involved in genealogy since I was a teenager. My grandparents are Keith Raymond & Janice Marie Streed Handy, and William & Marion Shakespeare Ahl Carter. I have a biological grandmother whom I will mention, too, Louise Mae Eiklor Buchanan Baker (my father was adopted). I am also a descendant of Lieut. Henry Timmerman (through the Handy side), and therefore part of the Snell-Zimmerman-Timmerman family of NYS. My husband is part of the prolific Ivey family, so I am also involved in researching this family as well.
