I live in Vidalia,Georgia, moving here from Miami in 1967. My parents are Jesse Lem (deceased) and Hope Ann Lashmit Parrish (deceased).
I decided to start the genealogy on my family in December 2007, and have quickly become addicted. I wish I had started earlier when I had family that could help me with names, dates and places.
We are related to STARLING,CROSBY,DYAL and others from Starke and Graham, Bradford County, Florida on my dad's side of the family. All are buried in Antioch Cemetery, Lacrosse, Alachua County, Fl. For information on this cemetery contact Johnny Chapman @ firstname.lastname@example.org
On my mother's side it's LASHMIT, FINE, HANKINS and others from North Carolina, Indiana and Michigan,.
I've always been fascinated with graves and old cemetery's. I enjoy researching family history and adding as much information to a memorial that I can. If I add a memorial, I will make sure in the future that I get a photo of the headstone and also link families together where possible. I've seen to many memorials added that dates are not put in and no family links are added. If you find a memorial that needs to be transferred to you, please request and I'll be glad to do so.
I will on occasion go to the local library and look up obituaries that I need. When I do this, I sometimes capture "others" . If they are already on FAG, I'll contact the owner and request a temporary transfer to add the information and then return it. So don't be alarmed if I contact you, with such a request! I enjoy adding all the information available. I've done several of these in the past....
I am not in this for the amount of memorials I can add, but to make sure everyone is remembered, so future researchers can have somewhere to start. And families can place flowers at any time.
If you have the time please place a flower on my daughter, Jessica's memorial.
Bradford County Telegraph dated Friday, October 28, 1921
DEATH OF MR. PARRISH
Ezekiel Parrish died at his home in Sampson Sunday evening October 16, aged 67 years. Of near relatives, the deceased leaves a widow and eleven children, also three sisters, Mrs. A.V. Varnes of Starke and Mesdames J.B. Brown and J.A.J. McKinney of Sampson. The deceased had for many years been a resident of that section, but was well known all over the county as a man of probity, and had made a host of friends, who join the bereaved family in mourning his departure. The interment took place at Mt. Sinai Cemetery, near Graham, Rev. Charles Smith conducting the funeral rites.
Labon Jess Holton I noticed you had added a picture for him and wanted to touch base with you to see if you are related? I am but only distantly. I am trying to locate more info on this family if you can help you can reach me at email@example.com thanks for all that you are doing.
The Andrew Porter Family Thank you, Kay, for going to all of the work to transcribe the obituaries for the Porters. They are beautifully written and I enjoyed them so much. It had to take a lot of time and energy to do this. I am adding them to my virtual cemeteries for Petoskey History 1852-2002. Thanks again!
Maam thank you for all you have done, are doing and shall do too. It is well. On some kin, the Parrish'es up from you in Virginia may well be kin to you. So yes, La. is not the only place with Parishes, lol..
Please add me as your friend. On Find A Grave also.
