Are you related to Janie and Bill of Table Rock, NE He was gone by the time I was around, but I loved Janie. I lived in Lower Town, too. I delivered her newspaper and mowed her grass as did some of my younger brothers and sisters.

Amazing what we find out when digging through old records! I'll keep my eye open for that name. I think I'll remember Holmes, I'm hoping to find the obituary for Lydia Giddings Gere Holmes, she moved to Kansas City and lived with her daughter Laura C. Holmes, have never found where she is buried. One lady has her linked to John Gere in Unknown cemetery. MO has good death records, but it is probably KS. Since you add things, I'll keep my eyes open for others for you.

A Milton and Susan Carter were listed in a phone book listing in 1950 living at 924 N. 24th street in Lincoln, Nebraska. Did your Milton have the nickname of Buster? I have photos of him and knew that he worked on railroad. Always wore overalls and knew he had sons named Verlin and Billy. I also have a photo of my grandmother and two boys that could be Verlin and Billy.
Trying to solve a family mystery. Thank you for your help.
Loretta (granddaughter of Susan Irene Carter)

Hello, my name is Loretta and I believe Milton, or Buster as my family knew him was married to my grandmother (Susan) who lived in Lincoln, Nebraska.
I had thought they were married in the 40's and maybe the early 50's but do not see her name as his second
wife. I have fond memories of "Buster" from my early childhood when I lived with my grandmother, Buster and mother for awhile.
Please help with my families research. We were recently at the Table Rock Cemetery searching for his grave and then I found out through Find-A-Grave that he was buried in the Nemaha Cemetery.
Thank you for any information.

Are you the son of Verlin Eugene Carter? From your memorials it appears that you may be a member of his family. I believe my Carter family is connected to his...way back. There is/was a cousin of Verlin called Victor Carter that I have been trying to find that did a lot of research on this carter family...lots of internet posting before 2008 none after. I have never been able to contact him. He was the son of Guy Franklin Carter who was in turn the son of Samuel Summerville Carter.

Thanks, this should clear up a few questions! I've been trying to add some photos and link as many as I can of the family. Did you notice the stone for Julian Frances has FRANCIS? Luella
I have added the son, Bradley, to his bio. Linking has to be done from the child to the parent, so you'll need to contact the manager of Bradley's memorial for the link to Francis.

I was wondering exactly how you are related to Jane whose 1st husband was William Newton Smith? William is a Lee descendant - his mother and my g.g. grandfather being siblings. I have extensive research on the Lee's as well as some work on the family of Jane and William. Feel free to contact me.
