Bio

I find it ironic that I always detested history class in school, but I love genealogy! I guess it's more interesting when the history is about my ancestors. I started my genealogy quest after my paternal grandfather's death - so 1997. That side of the family is French Canadian, and that is where most of my expertise lies, having been working with the Catholic church records in Quebec/Ontario/Acadia for 15+ years. My maternal side is a mix of Anglo/European ancestry (Mom calls it Heinz57, I call it Euromutt lol), including a pirate ancestor! I have a few brick walls I would love to break through, including the ancestry of my great-grandmother Elizabeth Snyder (maybe Williamson) Cowell-Dewitt (my mtDNA ancestress). Outside of genealogy, I'm a self-professed geek, with interests in: anything Joss Whedon, Nathan Fillion, Firefly/Serenity, Star Trek, photography, reading, cooking, collecting vintage Swarovski beads and rhinestones, Sharpies, and traveling.
