I volunteered as a photographer the very first time I entered this website because I thought the whole concept was a great idea! I've found helping folks document their ancestors and preserve deteriorating cemeteries to be a very worthwhile use of my spare time. |
I live in a rural area, so if you can, please provide travel directions, road or highway names or numbers, nearby towns, or landmarks, etc., to help me find churches, private cemeteries, or family burial sites. You can get grave location info by calling the appropriate Public Works Dept.
My family includes Watkins, Jones, McLemore, Dickens, Majors, and Ragland -- located in Southside Virginia and Roxboro, NC.

Barb, would you know if there is a headstone for James Green Watkins born 1908 Danville, Va. and died 1964 North Carolina. Death register (familysearch) says he is buried in Green Hill Cemetery, Danville. Also he had a wife by the name of Juanita Womble Watkins. Thanks, Debbie

Hi Barb, hope all is well & you're staying warm. While working on Mountain View, I noticed that you removed your photo on Geraldine. Go ahead & add mine that I sent you if you want to, that way she has one on her memorial. I think I deleted mine, I can't seem to locate it, later, Larry

Hi Barb, if you want, just add it if you like, I have no problem with that at all, I don't care about any credit or anything. If you like, I can also send you a photo of Lela May Brown that I sent you the correct dates on, I took a close up of the wording that shows her dates very well. Also her parents are William D Brown #123454400 & Ella Brown #123454436 if you care to link her to them.
I will soon have the cemetery completely photographed, I am in the last 1/3 of it now, it just takes time getting them entered, thanks for doing a good job and everything, Larry

Jabez is my GGGrandfather. I have been searching for my grandparents graves for several years. I can not thank you enough for posting this photo of his headstone.

Thank you for your note. I did not know how to put a city name in the county slot when creating the location. I sent an e-mail to Find A Grave and asked them to merge my files with the 2007 files and to transfer the authorship to the person who manages that file.
Thanks again for the heads up.

Thanks...... I am confused if the cemetery name was Floral Hills Memory Gardens or Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. The picture and your cemetery address clears it up for me. Again Thanks, Bob

Hope everything is going well for you.
You took a photo of "Floral Hills Memory Gardens",
Could you tell me what the physical address or about the location of the cemetery.
Thanks and Happy Valentine's Day.
