My wife and I do genealogy so we have been in a lot of libraries, cemeteries, court houses and outhouses all around the USA. At first, I started photographing only my family and friends' tombstones. It therefore became a duty to take pictures of all the markers in the cemeteries throughout Ellis county.
Several of the names and dates which are already listed that do not yet have photos, contain many errors. After taking their tombstone pictures, I have noticed those mistakes when comparing the actual inscriptions with the information that has already been uploaded. I also see a lot of people listed more than once, which throws off the number of graves indicated.
If and when I make a mistake please e-mail me and I will gladly correct it. If the person is a relative or friend and you wish to manage the listing, I will happily relinquish ownership and transfer it over to you. We are members of the Ellis County Genealogical Society which meets the 1st Monday of Sept-Dec, 7:00 pm, at the Ellis County Woman's Building, 407 West Jefferson Street in Waxahachie, Texas. Meetings are open to anyone interested in family history. If you would like to join us the dues are $20 per calendar year. This includes a subscription to the Ellis County Genealogical Society quarterly publication, Searchers & Researchers.
