I'm happy to transfer management of any memorials who have a relationship closer than mine. I'm also happy to make corrections as needed, just please be patient. Any defensive, abusive or demanding messaging about a memorial is not acceptable communication and will be dismissed.
Burns received by W.L. McGuire aged 29 at the plant of the Sommerville Iron Works in North Chattanooga Saturday afternoon, resulted in his death at a local hospital Sunday morning at 6:30 o’clock. Mr. McGuire an employee of the iron works was carrying a ladle of hot metal. In some manner, he lost his footing and fell. Suffering from burns about the face and chest he was rushed to Erlanger in Chapman’s Ambulance where he was given every attention, but without avail. The body was removed to Chapman’s, prepared for burial and later taken to the home in North Chattanooga.
Funeral services were held from the residence Monday afternoon at 2:30. Rev W.M. Tidwell and James Chapman officiated. Many sorrowing friends were in attendance. Beason’s Cemetary was the place of interment.
Mr. McGuire’s death is particularly sad as he leaves a widow and two young children. Margaret and Ruth. He is also survived by two sisters. Misses Hattie and Lizzie McGuire.

Rebecca Bowen Hi. Your file on Rebecca Bowen shows her date of death and no date of birth. However, it does say she was approximately 66 years old. Is that on her headstone? I'm just curious where the information comes from.
Thomas A Pope On the memorial page for Thomas A Pope (1810-1878) is the tombstone picture of his father, Jonathan Pope (1786-1860). Do you have a picture of the tombstone for Thomas Pope that could be attached to him?
