RE: Houck's in Ralls Co..
I don't have any Houck's buried in Ralls County in my database, but there are a couple in Marion County--Elizabeth (1831-1902) and Mary C (1830-1854)

RE: Willis C. Johnson
What I meant was that the steamboat explosion article calls him only "W C Johnson" but the fact that a different account of the incident calls him "Willis C Johnson" makes it more likely that this is the same man.

Old Olivet Cemetery gate
Hi Gary, thanks so much for the info you placed concerning the old gate. I can now imagine how my great grandfather's kinfolks in Hannibal could have traveled that path to lay their loved ones to rest. I am touched by this photo. Thank you so much! Genealogist

RE: Cissna Farm Cemetery
Right, Gary, I found the list on Marion County website and when Jeff saw I had done it thought perhaps I knew something--only thing I knew in Marion County that might be helpful was YOU!!! :) I gave him your name, etc. and told him to be sure to tell you I had done that so you would not think him just as nosy. I still have no clue where it would be, so I hope you can get some photos sometime to post--that would be super cool!! Thanks in advance for that and thank you for all you have already done, I like to see the grave marker photos so people know it isn't a joke by all of us that do that sort of work, obits help when there are no markers, but together it makes confirmation.

Good to hear from you--I think of the "old" days and friends we made often, especially this time of year! Pam

Johnston Cemetery
From the photo of the "unknown unknown" stone (memorial 83829603) I can clearly see the name Johnston. But from the photo I can't tell anything else. One of these days, I want to go there to check out the two stones that can't be read and try myself. John and Hannah Johnston were my 3g grandparents.
