I am currently working on the family tree of my husband's family. Specifically ,the Ferrington Family from Redford Twp, Michigan who originated from Herkimer, New York. The other surnames I am researching are White (Romeo, MI), Kerckhove/Kerchove/VandeKerckhove (Belgium to Detroit and Moline, Illinois), Crawford (Detroit), Searfoss (Milan, MI), Prindle (Redford, MI), and Ziegeler (Detroit).|
I love to visit cemeteries. I find great satisfaction in documenting as many graves as I can in Southeast Michigan and any city I visit. Everyone should be remembered and I encourage everyone to leave their mark (headstone) in this world.
Oak Hill Cemetery - Pontiac, Michigan
My husband and I are working on getting all the graves photographed and memorials added on Find-A-Grave. We have completed sections 2 and 5 - 11 in the older sections of the cemetery. We are currently working on Section 4 and currently have about 1/4 of it to complete.
Note about my photos: I crop all of my pictures for the best readability of the headstone.

|Christie Trapp||Harris[son] N. & Hannah S. (Farrar) Tripp|
You photographed Hannah's marker in Farmers Creek Cemetery and it also has been posted on Harrison N. Tripps memorial as well in this cemetery and in Commerce Village Burying Ground.
It seems I have a memorial in both cemeteries for Harrison N. Tripp. Now I am totally confused. Laura (inactive) originally posted the name in Commerce and it was transferred to me. Then I posted one in Farmers because of the monument for Hannah which implies, to me at least, that he is also in the ground with her.
Harrison was married secondly to Lydia Belle (Kingsbury) Tripp and she is buried in Commerce. Laura (Inactive) still owns this memorial. Getting Ancestry aka Find A Grave to transfer any of her memorials is next to impossible now that Ancestry has taken over.
I know it was a while ago when you took the photo of Hannah's grave in Farmers and was wondering what your take is on his whereabouts.
On my memorial in Commerce there are markers for him and there is a big Tripp monument as well. Is that monument because he is there? Or is it a family plot that includes the second wife and other family members? Or is he buried in Farmers?
His death certificate does indicate Commerce is where he was suppose to be buried, but sometimes family members make other decisions about burial after a death certificate is filed.
So you happen to recall this family? I'm not sure if I wrote you privately about this family in the past, but any recall would be a big help before I do a delete on one of the entries.
The alternative might be that the Farmers is just a memorial marker and that he is physically in Commerce. Look forward to hearing from you.
