William Cole
Bryan, thank you for creating the memorial page for William Cole #27236163. Please note that William is buried in the Hopewell Cemetery behind the Hopewell Baptist Church, located at 3800 University Blvd. E., Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. The city of Tuscaloosa has expanded its boundaries in recent years. Two members of the Alabama Genealogy Network took it upon themselves to visit the cemetery, independently of one another, to verify the location and address of William's gravesite. Believe it or not, another AGN member said that his county has three cemeteries by the same name in his county. That can certainly add to the confusion for us researchers!

COLE, William and Martha
It was just pointed out to me today by another COLE family researcher that William and Martha are both listed on F-A-G as being buried in "Hopewell Cemetery, Alberta City, Tuscaloosa Co., AL" AND in "Mount Hope Cemetery, Vance, Tuscaloosa Co., AL" - To add to this confusion, the pictures that I took and submitted that appear on the "Alberta City" site were taken at Hopewell Cemetery in Cottondale, Tuscaloosa Co., AL. At least the closest city limit sign said "Cottondale", at least it did in 2000 when I was there to take the pictures! I didn't notice the discrepancy until now.... Can you help clarify this in anyway??? Leah BARNHART Meador

RE: Abijah Searles
Thanx for the awesome tips on Jesse Bailey and the pension records. I was more curious as to how you felt Abijah Searles was at Resurrection Cemetery. All the other entries there on Find A Grave are from the 1990s and 2000s. Upon further poking around I found an Abraham Sears 1748-1850 at Brunstetter Cemetery (Old) Memorial #31232898. Perhaps this is our guy?

Abijah Searles Mem # 27989992
Was wondering about this memorial. Abijah Searles is the only member of the Searles family listed as buried in Resurrection Cemetery. How did you find that he was buried there? Is he buried with his second wife Jemimah? TIA
