Through a roundabout route (thanks Ruth and Don) I learned about Susan being a daughter of Jane Smith. Jane's second husband was my widowed gg grandfather, John Haggerty. They had one child, but it appears that by the time that child was born that Jane and John were already separated. For my info see: http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=sharonmh&id=I1353 I had found your private tree on ancestry and was frustrated. Then I went looking for Robert and quickly came across the Find A Grave info. Jane's daughter Margaret Haggerty married in Chicago. Later census records say she immigrated to the USA in the mid 1870s. After reading your info about the McCormick family going to Chicago, I wonder if they might have taken Margaret into their family and that is how Margaret happened to go there, rather than with her mother?
Emma Ann McCormick Hello Mary Lou: thanks for sharing your tree; lots of great information. I found a death record for Emma Ann McCormick on Family Search: 11 Feb 1900, Manhattan, New York, USA. Search for Emma A. Eberle, age 28. Doug Smith
Susanna (Susan) Dafoe McCormick Hello Mary Lou: Thank you for connecting the above person to my relative, Jane Smith and her 1st husband Joseph Dafoe. We did not know of the existence of Susan. We only knew of her daughter Adeline Dafoe. Would you mind sharing with us your proofs for connecting Susan to Jane Smith & Joseph Dafoe? I did look up the death certificate for Susan McCormick and it shows father: -----Dafoe and mother: Janet Smith. The dates certainly do line up, but as researchers, we love to have evidence -- the more, the better. Thank you so much for your great entry for Susan, and for connecting with our entry. We look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Doug Smith
Jacob Lincoln Hello, thank you for your message about the duplicate memorials. However, I don't believe they are duplicates. The two Jacob Lincolns have different dates of death. They are two people who had the same name.
