|I have been working on our family genealogy for over 10 years now and it is addictive. Some of the lines that I am working on are Mitchell, Henson, Jones, Whittle, McFarland, Yarbrough/Yarbro, Barnes, Collins, Bunch, Beadle, Halk, Brown, and many more, too many to name.|
If any errors are found in the data I have entered or if you would like to add additional information, please let me know.

|Shirley Stewart Milford||RE: Cogdell|
Kim, I am only very distantly related to the Cogdells, if at all. I haven't checked very far back in my line. But, Auneta's brother John Melton Gardner married Armon K Whittle 1922-2001, daughter of Ares and Chloie Whittle. Any relationship there? Armon's story was a little special to me...
John Melton Gardner and Armon Whittle had two children, a son, Johnny LaNeil Gardner, who died at birth and a daughter, Peggy Gardner Usery. After John's death, Armon moved to Granada MS to be near her daughter. There she met and married Mr. Alfred Earl Roberts. After her death Armon was returned to Henderson Co TN. She, John Melton and little Johnny LaNeil Gardner are buried in Independence Cemetery, Henderson Co TN (Middle Section).
There is a very touching tribute on Armon's memorial about her 2nd marriage... 91662935

Yes, Kim, Auneta's maiden name was Gardner. She was the daughter of John ‘Hix' Gardner and Laura Taylor. This is what I have on Auneta...
Auneta Gardner b. Feb 3, 1916 d. Dec 23, 1991, married (1) Otha Threadgill on Jan 16, 1932 in Henderson Co TN. By 1940 census Otha is living with his father and Auneta is living with her brother Melton Gardner and other siblings. Auneta married (2) Leroy Cogdell 1916-1971. Auneta and Leroy had two young sons Danny Cogdell b. 1943, and Dicky Cogdell b. 1950 who died within a few days of birth and Ronald L Cogdell b. Sep 1, 1949. Auneta, Danny and Dicky Cogdell are buried in Independence Cemetery. Leroy Cogdell is buried in Cogdell Cemetery in Henderson Co TN.
Thank you for the transfer
