Bio

I am retired from Federal Civil Service, where I worked for the Department of Defense for over twenty-seven years. Genealogy has been my number one hobby for thirty-four years and our daughters never missed an opportunity to comment that their mother was the only person they knew who took a vacation and came home with nothing but pictures of tombstones.

Lineage societies keep me busy as I am a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, United States Daughters of 1812 and Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War. In Colonial Dames of the 17th Century I prove my descent from the royal lines of Europe through my ancestor John Throckmorton. I have a total of forty coats of arms approved, including eight barons who forced King John to sign the Magna Charta. In 2009 my membership into the National Society Magna Charta Dames and The Plantagenet Society was approved. In 2010 I have added The National Huguenot Society,First Families of New Hampshire and Descendants of Colonial Clergymen, to my approved lineage societies. Approved in August 2011 was my application as a Descendant of the Most Noble Order of Knights of the Garter. In August 2013 my membership was approved for Order of Washington, The Sovereign Colonial Society Americans of Royal Descent and Colonial Order of the Crown. My membership in the new lineage society: National Society of Descendants of Lady Godiva was approved in January 2015.

My genealogical research includes all collateral lines. Some of my direct lines include BARKER,BEVER,BLAIR, CHANDLER,COMPTON,DUFFORD, DOUGLASS,DUNN, DRAKE, HATT,HOLLINGSWORTH, ISAACKS, KINDER, LIFE, MARKER, MCELVAIN, MCKINSEY, MCMAHAN, NINE, SARBER,SCOTT, STEVENS, SIMMONS, SMITH, STOUT, and my husband's lineage including SHAWN, SHOUN, SHOWN, LOCKABY, HEAD, MOORE, BAKER, SLEMP, GREATHOUSE, AND JOHNSON.

This site is wonderful for bringing people together and giving us an opportunity to share our tombstone pictures and pictures of the cemeteries. IF YOU USE MY PICTURES AND/OR MY GENEALOGICAL INFORMATION PLEASE GIVE ME CREDIT FOR MY WORK; OTHERWISE YOU DO NOT HAVE MY PERMISSION TO POST IT TO ANY OTHER SITE.
