PLEASE DO NOT POST PHOTOS OF DEATH CERTIFICATES ON MEMORIALS I HAVE CREATED OR THAT I MAINTAIN. In my opinion, they are very distasteful.|
I am researching Cantrell, Gunn, James, Taylor, Eakin and Monsey families.
I have a fondness and great respect for veterans and recently completed (with the help of my cousin) marking more than 2000 veteran graves in Plainview. We placed a sticker on each stone so they could be easily identified when flags are placed at the cemetery on Memorial Day and Veterans Day. I am adding photos of their headstones periodically.

No, the photo on the site is fine. I am doing a family tree of my mother's family. Thank you so much for doing this work. Someday i hope to get to see his grave in person.

You are welcome. Not related and don't know anything about this person. Just ran across the OBIT and though I would share.

Yes, I am the one that you contacted about burial here. I too never thought I would be doing this. I use to go to the cemetery just to fulfill photo requests and I was depressed by it. Since I started photographing it and researching the people, I see it in a whole different light. If I didn't have Ancestry.com, it would not mean nearly as much to me. The history and stories that they tell is unbelievable. The death certificates have solved so many mysteries for me too. Some are hard to read as to what killed them, but it helps link their families together with them. It also gives birth and death places which is the most valuable and Texas is very free with their death certificates. I never knew how many there are on Ancestry but love that part of it. I am stuck on Rosser right now as a lady related to them had some photographs of her family and I am in the process of adding those to their memorials and I am finding more and more Rossers. If the relatives ever find the photos that I have put on the memorials, they will react the same way you did when you found your relatives in our cemetery. Just look at it this way, Our work is never done with genealogy.
