|HI, I AM 62 RETIRED,AND AN AVID GENEALOGIST.I JUST STARTED LOOKING FOR REQUESTS FOR TOMBSTONE PICTURES,AND REALLY ENJOY THE SEARCH.FAMILY HISTORY IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME,AND IF BY TAKING PICTURES,I CAN IN SOME WAY SAVE A LITTLE PART OF PEOPLE'S HISTORY,THEN I FEEL LIKE I'VE ACCOMPLISHED SOMETHING. I LIVE IN ODESSA,TEXAS,AND WILL GLADLY CHECK OUT CEMETERIES WITHIN A 200 MILE RADIUS, AND FARTHER IF I CAN. IF I HAVE MADE A MISTAKE OR IF I LIST SOMEONE THAT YOU WANT TRANSFERRED ,LET ME KNOW.|
FEEL FREE TO USE MY PHOTO'S;JUST PLEASE GIVE ME CREDIT FOR TAKING THEM OR OWNING THEM.-- I have the only photo of one of my great grandmother's on here. Someone added it to their family tree on Ancestry.com with no mention of where they got it,or what family link it came from. Now it's being added from one tree to another, without anyone being aware of our link into that family.I don't think that is right.
If anyone comes across "any" family of theirs I've listed and you would like to manage their memorial's,just let me know.I don't do this to build up numbers, but to try and save as much family history on these stones as I can.It doesn't matter to me how close or how far apart the family link may be.

LaDonna, thank you for your generous work in recording obits and graves for families. I am in central Texas and following my families through DAR. Thank you for reminding all to credit source of information and pictures.

I was wrong. I am very sorry. I got incorrect information, and somehow blended two families a long time ago when I was less experienced. The families came from the same area and have siblings with same dates and names, but Mont was not Lucinda Cord Townsend's son. I suspect due to the similarities in location and family names they are related, and maybe some day I'll get it sorted out. Please disregard my earlier edit, and next time I will make sure I double check older work when . I'm sorry I took up your time.

LaDonna, I am the 2nd cousin 1 x removed of Stanford Slaughter. I noticed that you posted on his memorial wall that you have been unable to locate a headstone. The cemetery should have information on whether he has a headstone or not. They should have the exact location he is buried. Some of them will be more than happy to help you locate his burial site or at the minimum give you a map of the cemetery and mark the general vicinity.
If you find a marker I would love to have a photo of it, also.

Yes, that is what I am saying. Lucy was my husbands great grandmother. He knew her well. Her father was Andrew Townsend and her mother was Rebecca Miles.

There really not a lock unless one has been put on the gate recently. When I go in I write a big note to put on gate that I'm in cemetery. I you would tell me when you are coming maybe I could meet you there? I live here. "Chip"
