RE: James Pegan Gravestone Photo Memorial# 150991995
My 7th Great Uncle- James Pegan Sr. and his wife, Sarah's stone. It appears that their gravestones have their children's names that died before their parents on them. Whenever is convenient for you is fine. I just appreciate your willingness to help me get more information about them! Thank you so much!!

Would you be willing to do an aluminum foil impression or an impression on paper using chalk, crayon? I really feel it is important to know what it actually says on the stones.

Thank you so much Bobbi! I went to the website and saw that there are 2 other Pegan's listed so they must be the names that are on the tombstones. Since you live so close would you be willing to maybe chalk and rub those 2 tombstones and photograph it so I have a copy that is legible? My sister and I just went on a family history trip to Tennessee and we did this to the stones that were unreadable and they turned out wonderfully. We could read everything on the stone.
Thank you so much!!

James Pegan Gravestone Photo Memorial# 150991995
James Pegan is my great uncle. I see that you created and attached a photo of his gravestone as well as his wife's gravestone on their memorial pages. It is hard to read the stones but it looks like there are other names with death dates on their stones- Possibly children of theirs that died before them. Can you make out what is written on their stones? Do you live near the Old Chestnut Level Presbyterian Cemetery in Lancaster, PA?

RE: Daniel Ulam
Sorry it took me so long to answer, computer problems. I have searched and searched and found next to nothing. Everything says after he returned from the RW he did this and that. There is a R W medallion at his burial place but I can't find anything else. He is listed as having served but it doesn't say where. Helen

Thank you for the image of James Bigham's tombstone. Your work is highly appreciated, and is essential to preserving the memory of our loved ones--especially so when these ancient monuments begin to deteriorate!

Would you like a copy of Arletta Northrup's death certificate? The birth year is 1810 on the death certificate. The stone looks like it may say 1810 too but I am not sure since it is so tiny and faded.

DAR Patriot Index states "ancestor's record may not meet current DAR requirements for the service and/or the lineage. Interested applicants should ensure the accuracy of an ancestor's record by documenting the ancestor's service and the lineage as much as possible."

This death certificate does some of that.

Not my family member,

RE: Jacob Haldeman
Glad to hear it! Was the original stone reset? Has anything been done to stabilize the site? Were all participants descended from Jacob's son, John? I am descended from his son Christian - maybe the only DAR member from that line (certainly the first!).

Jacob Haldeman

I'd love to know who was involved in getting the lovely DAR marker for Jacob Haldeman's grave. I am a descendant and have been to the gravesite with other relatives, with us wondering what to do to preserve it. It is great that other descendants came up with a solution, and I would like to get in touch with them!
