Check out Bertha's husbands memorial.
I found two of Bertha's husbands wives this evening and they are now linked to him. I was not able to find his third wife. Just thought you might want to check our what I added. Take care, Marla M. from MO.

Glad that I was able to help you with your family research. Let me know if there is anything else I can do. I am always happy to make links and add as much info. to memorials as possible. RE: My Aunt Bertha
I called a funeral home in California, Mo. first but they couldn't help me. They did suggest I call the local newspaper and gave me their phone number. The girl at the California Democrat newspaper office that answered the phone took my number and called me back. She had Bertha's obituary and it listed her first husband so that is how I found her. If you want to get a copy let me know and I will send you the phone number for the California Democrat newspaper. I may check the La Plata Home Press papers again since Bertha died on Dec. 27, 1998 instead of the 17th. Her obit might not have been published until sometime in January 1999. Glad I could help. Have a nice evening, Marla M. from MO.

FOUND BERTHA!
I found your aunt Bertha. Yes, she is buried in the La Plata cemetery next to her first husband, Bedford Gilmore Slaughter. Apparently she was married three times. Check out my memorial #64541117. I took and added a photo of Bedford and Bertha's stone several months ago so you can see it as well. Hope this helps, Marla M. from MO.

RE: Memorial of Richard Griggs
I wasn't able to find an obiturary for Richard H. Griggs in the La Plata newspaper. I did go ahead and make a memorial for his wife, Bertha and included the dates she was born, etc. If she is buried in the La Plata cemetery she does not have a stone. I have photographed all the stones in the same block and there are no other stones with the last name Griggs on them. I will check out the La Plata newspapers again to see if there is by chance an obit for Bertha in them. Other than checking with funeral homes in Sedalia, Mo. to see who handled her funeral or finding an obit. someplace I don't know if I can be of much help. If I find anything else I will let you know. Have a nice evening, Marla M. from MO.

RE: Memorial of Richard Griggs
Is it possible that his wife is still living or has remarried. If his wife is deceased do you know when as I might be able to check the newspapers. A name and death date would help along with any other info. Also is there any possibility she was married before and could be buried with a different husband as it doesn't appear she will be buried next to Richard. If you have any info. that might help find her I will see what I can do. Good luck, Marla M. from MO.
