Minolta smith tigue
Why is she listed with two names and one in Jarvis and other in Hammonds? And yes, she had several children with Monk Tigue. My mother was one of them although Minolta died when my mom was 3 years old. My mother tried to find her grave years ago with no luck. Any information on this?

Robert Smith
HI Sharon,
Thank you for your contributions. I am a descendant of William Smith, son of Robert Smith.
Could you provide the source for the marriage record of Robert and Frances?
Since there are so many Smiths, I am trying to make sure I have the correct one.
I am fairly confident regarding William Smith and his father, Robert, as William had a twin brother named Pleasant and they showed up in the 1850 census with Robert Smith and also in 1880 census living with their families on adjacent properties in Madison Indiana, my great grandmother's birthplace.

I appreciate any assistance you can provide me.

Thanks,
Linda

Isham Stewart 1850 US Census
Hi Sharon--

Thank for the information on Isham Stewart and family. If my genealogy is correct, he would be my partner's fourth great grandfather. I just wanted to let you know that an Isham Stewart appears in the 1850 US Census living in Clay County, Kentucky, along with his wife, Margaret, and seven of his children. The children are: Sally, Nancy, Eli, Rebecca, Isaac, Joseph, and James. I hope this is useful to you.

Sincerely,

Lisa Quinto

OBITUARY

On January 2nd, 1917, the death angel visited our home and took from us our dear mother Rachel Jones, who was ninety-six years, 2 month and 8 days old.

She was married to Darling Jones about January 10, 1836 and to this union were born eleven children: of those five have preceded her to the grave, leaving W. H. Jones, of Sidney, Nebraska; Nancy Woodward, of Piper, Kansas; Kate Sasser, of Mitchel, Oregon; E. D. and F. H. Jones, of Boering; Hannah Payne, of Carrol, Idaho, who still survive her.

She joined the Baptist church at Robinson Creek, Laurel County, about 1820 and lived a devoted Christian life for more than fifty-six years. In her death the church has lost one of its most highly esteemed members, the community a kind and loving neighbor, and her children one of their best earthly friends, but our loss is her eternal gain. Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord from henceforth; yea, saith the spirit that they may rest from their labors and their works do follow them.

It was hard indeed to part bur Christ's strong arm supported me, can I forget the agonizing hour when those loving eyes were closed to awake no more. Sleep on dear mother in quiet sleep, while friends in sin over thee weep.

A loving son
T. H. J.
