My very sincere thanks to everyone who is pitching in and helping photograph the graves of Able Company. I really did not expect a response of this magnitude!|
I am a mid-twenties part-time historian living in Brooklyn. My primary purpose for this site is to keep track of family members, and Marines who served with my ancestor 1st Lt. Philip Wood in Able Company, 24th Marines.
If anyone has any information about any of the profiles I have posted, please let me know!
In addition to the names listed here, I am actively seeking information on any members of A Company, 1st Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment.
If I can be of any help locating your military ancestors, please don't hesitate to ask!
Through their sacrifice may we learn not to repeat the mistakes of the past.

PFC Joseph Dill Jr.
I'm writing you concerning your Find A Grave posting for Joseph Dill Jr.. About a year and a half ago his niece asked me to create a Find A Grave page for him. We grew up together in Hillside. She was supposed to supply me with photos and we were going to go to the cemetery to take photos of his grave. I checked on Find A Grave and there was no page already for him. Yesterday she was finally able to travel up to North Jersey(She's disabled and has been ill) and we were able to get to the cemetery.
After creating the page she sent the link to the rest of the family and maybe an hour later she called me that there were 2 pages. When I search I found that you had created a page last January.
I commend you for the work you did in making all the posts you have done for the 24th Marines. I'm asking you to consider deleting your Joseph Dill Jr. page so the family can have the ability to add to and edit the page. Find A Grave does audits of pages and does not allow for duplicate pages for the same person.
Thank you for your consideration and thank you for the work you have done on making the posts you have done. I know how much research and time it takes to do what you have accomplished..........................Jack Mandy
You are welcome for the photos.
Good luck with your project.

Have added a memorial for Robert's twin brother if you would add the manual creation link which I have also added to Williams.

Hey it's Leonardo from Iwo Vets and Families, please add me as a friend here and on FB.
I see that Ray's name may be on the Tablets of the Missing. Do you have a photo of this tablet? I tried to find one but couldn't. I was wondering if another of our Iwo Jima Veterans names was on it as I think it should be. The name is Armand Robidoux.

I just saw your message. Thank you for your hard work. We would like to put together a story on him. I don't know where he is buried also. If you want, you can also write me off line at firstname.lastname@example.org.

That would be great. No rush, whenever it is convenient. We have 100 men from CT who were killed on Iwo Jima and he is one of them. We are slowly researching the names to gather as much info as we can. Hope to make a poster for each to post by a memorial Flag. Here is the website for the park I am in charge of:

We are in charge of taking care of the Iwo Jima Memorial in Connecticut. We are seeking any possible details of the life of Raymond McAdoo other than what you have posted here. Do you have contact with any family members? We would like to put together a bio on him.

This afternoon my wife and I walked two cemeteries in Sanborn, Minnesota. One memorial that you created, for Otto Becker, is actually in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, not in the Sanborn Cemetery. They are adjacent to one another. The two grave marker photos are posted on his memorial.
