Bio and Links
Bio Photo My very sincere thanks to everyone who is pitching in and helping photograph the graves of Able Company. I really did not expect a response of this magnitude!

I am a mid-twenties part-time historian living in Brooklyn. My primary purpose for this site is to keep track of family members, and Marines who served with my ancestor 1st Lt. Philip Wood in Able Company, 24th Marines.

If anyone has any information about any of the profiles I have posted, please let me know!

In addition to the names listed here, I am actively seeking information on any members of A Company, 1st Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment.

If I can be of any help locating your military ancestors, please don't hesitate to ask!

Through their sacrifice may we learn not to repeat the mistakes of the past.

Ernest Tykarski
New St. Peter is a very large cemetery. In the past, I have waited two and three months for responses to my inquiries as to locations of graves. This will go a lot faster if you call the cemetery directly and ask for the information as a relative. If you will provide a Section and Plot number for Ernest Tykarski, I will be happy to go over and take a picture. The phone number for St. Peter's is 203-743-9626. Thank you.

PFC Joseph Dill Jr.
I'm writing you concerning your Find A Grave posting for Joseph Dill Jr.. About a year and a half ago his niece asked me to create a Find A Grave page for him. We grew up together in Hillside. She was supposed to supply me with photos and we were going to go to the cemetery to take photos of his grave. I checked on Find A Grave and there was no page already for him. Yesterday she was finally able to travel up to North Jersey(She's disabled and has been ill) and we were able to get to the cemetery.
After creating the page she sent the link to the rest of the family and maybe an hour later she called me that there were 2 pages. When I search I found that you had created a page last January.
I commend you for the work you did in making all the posts you have done for the 24th Marines. I'm asking you to consider deleting your Joseph Dill Jr. page so the family can have the ability to add to and edit the page. Find A Grave does audits of pages and does not allow for duplicate pages for the same person.

Thank you for your consideration and thank you for the work you have done on making the posts you have done. I know how much research and time it takes to do what you have accomplished..........................Jack Mandy
