I have been working on genealogy since approx. 1994 -- after my Mother passed away, in going through her stuff, I found the names of my fathers parents (we had never known any of my fathers family). I wondered if I would be able to find them and I was successfull in finding my fathers only living sibling. I live in Des Moines, Iowa, and she lived in Oregon -- I flew out the following Thanksgiving to get acquainted with her and couldn't have been happier. This gave me the "genealogy bug" and I have been searching ever since -- have found WONDERFUL relatives who I never knew existed. Genealogy if great!!

The names I search are CLAYTON, McNEELEY, ARROWOOD, MYERS, SPENCER,just to name a few.

Greenwood Cemetery
Hi Nancy,

I recently made a trip to Greenwood Cemetery in an attempt to fulfill a few photo requests. In doing so, I actually ended up creating a spreadsheet that includes all the information on Find A Grave, combined with the USGen web file, and the records I found while I was there. I have sent you several update requests. My apologies for the flux of those. Thanks for all you do.

Rebecca

James Riley Clayto
If Levi is your grandfather and Dora is my grandmother, then we are 2nd cousins. James Riley Clayton is buried in Mary's Chapel Cemetery in Clay County, north of Rector. He was married to a Irene Morris born approx. 1851 and died 1885 in Illinois. J.R. moved to the Leonard, Arkansas area in approx. 1895 along with the Davis family. I have a picture of James Riley's tombstone which I took a couple of years ago, before my Find A Grave involvement. I'll find it and post it to the memorial. I have more information that I will send you via email, including some newspaper articles on the settling of Leonard. One interesting note, Robert E. Davis was also married to Nora, Dora's sister, but she was killed in an accident in Illinois and buried there. Were you ever in Rector? That's

Thanks for the transfer
Thanks for the transfer Nancy. Are we related? My grandmother on my mom's side was a Clayton. Maybe that's why you created the memorial? I also noted a message on your profile about a Laura Foster Clayton. I had an aunt Laura Clayton, she was a Foster and she was married to my Great Uncle, Lee, brother to my grandmother. She lived in Leonard, AR which is close to my home town of Rector, AR. Interesting.

Lura Clayton
Nancy I am finding 2 Laura Foster Clayton and Lura Clayton # 10859566....??? Could they be the same??
Laura Suzanne Foster/Clayton is a Grand Aunt and while searching the Find A grave site I noticed a Lura Clayton (1883-?) pretty close to Laura Clayton (1882-1973) I was looking for her husbands grave and there is a "Lee Clayton" there. Is this Leander? Hope you can clear this up for me. Thanks Sue Green

They are brother and sister. Neither of them ever married. Their sister, Margaret Mary Myers, is my 2nd great grandmother.
You're name is listed for Catherine so I thought it best to contact you. If possible, I would love pictures of their grave. Chuck
