Bio

I am researching the Thornton family and the descendants of Birdsong/Burdsong Thornton. His Children are Spencer S, Henry Jackson, Seaborn Jefferson, Abedango, Lucius Columbus, George W, Bluford B, John T, Francis M, Rufus, Martha, Mary, Lellie C, and Parthena J Thornton. As I find someone who is descended from one I put them in their respective virtual cemetery. My direct ancestor is Spencer S. Thornton, his first wife Elizabeth M. Robinson, his 2nd wife Elizabeth Jane Grant. The combined children from the two marriages are: Sarah Elizabeth (Costley), Henrietta (Costley), Rosa (Cosley), Mary Jane, Georgia Ann, William Adelbert, Thomas Grady, and Henry Brantley Thornton. I am also related to the Smith, Brannan, Garrett, Grant, Carmichael, Brittain, Shinn and Hamilton families through my different grandmothers. I started researching my tree in 1975. Still have a lot of work to do with it, but I'm getting close to having it finished.I have one virtual cemetery for those who chose to be cremated, cemetery unknown and buried at sea. As I find other relatives that are related and are already entered I put them in the virtual cemetery of how they are related. As an example, Russell Gibbs was already listed in South Carolina. I added him to the virtual cemeteries of Thomas Grady Thornton and the Thornton Family. Also, Russell will only appear in my virtual cemeteries and not under the list of the memorials I've entered. All the memorials that I have added are members of my family line.
