Our Interest in the Findagrave come as researchers of our Family History
To bring back to memory the history of a life that was lived,
My Surname -Paternal O'Shields-Hyatt-Mayes-Smith-Black-Maternal-Riddle-Rampley-Wilson
Doris family Surname -Wilson Lusk Corbin-Smith Beck, Maternal--Rice -Moore-Pitman-Andrews-Gosnell--Shipman--Merrill--Ashworth-
all of these listed are Grandparents.
We are working to connect families together on F.A.G To make it an easy process for anyone in search of their family history. My purpose is to help.
F,A,G is the most helpful tool I have come across in doing research. I personally think it is better than D,N,A when a family member knows who is related. It can reach from State to State.
So if anyone knows where a mistake has been made please let us know. In the future I will not add family pictures to the memorial because they are being picked up by websites that want to use them for profit.

RE: MEMORIAL FOR Thomas Seabern Thomas
Yes, I had all that information already. I have researched the Thomas Family extensively. The current Tyger River Park in southern Sptbg County is the old homestead of John Thomas Thomas (Thomas' Father) farm prior to the outbreak of the Civil War.
The Thomas Family has always been closely connected to me in thoughts. Thanks again for your help.

RE: MEMORIAL FOR Thomas Seabern Thomas
Thank you for all the information. I had heard of the book, but could not find a copy.
I know Thomas had given his word to John Landrum Gentry that he would "take care" of John's family if he were to die in the War.(Which he did) Thomas later married John's widow.
I will place all your information in his profile.
Best Regards,

Patrick, Please look at memorial 117279100 for John Gwin. I'm just wondering if you might know where this family cemetery is located. The directions listed on the cemetery is not helpful. Any help appreciated.
Thanks-Dwight Crowe

Mary Higgins Riddle
I am trying to figure out how to place Mary Higgins (m. John) in my Higgins line. Do you know her parents?

Richard Simpson Wilson
I would like to pass on to Doris the name of the only child of Richard Simpson Wilson. Bertie Wilson Brewster came by the Anderson County Chapter of the Genealogical Society. I believe Doris may be interested in swapping information on the Wilson line. Bertie's Email address is She is interested in the Picture that was posted of her father on Find-A-Grave.

Thank you for all you do,

Gary Farmer

RE: O'Shields
More than likely they did not reply to my messages or either refused corrections. I always request a bio or try to contact the person who created the memorial, since I am not able to do a bio if I did not create the memorial. I have seen so many mistakes. If I have not created the memorial, it is very difficult to add information to a bloodline family member if someone else has done it and is not a relative. Sorry.

I haven't heard back from you about the problem. It is easy to transfer a memorial from one cemetery to another. I checked, you just click on the Edit button next to the Burial, then mark the 1st choice for a cemetery burial, then type in the name West Oakwood & tell it to search, it will find the cemetery & that's it.

I like my photos of the plot, I can add them to your memorial after you change it if you wish. Let me know.

RE: Sunie Eugenia O'Shields Jennings
Not sure exactly what you wanted, I can transfer mine to you, or tell you how to transfer yours to West Oakwood. I like my photos, I put 3 showing the individual marker, the overall row of markers in front of the big family plot marker, & also the big family marker.

Let me know specifically what you want to do.

PS Text me at 864-357-2292 for quicker reply.

I got your message about there being 2 memorials for your aunt. I checked yours and mine, and I realized why I didn't see yours; It's in the wrong cemetery.

This has happened before. There are 2 Oakwood Cemeteries there, one is the old Oakwood which is to the east of this area, the other where Sunie is has a different name & is separated by a road, it's called West Oakwood, but there is no sign. I have relatives in both, I did not know West Oakwood had a different name until my great-aunt told me in the 1980's. She said West Oakwood was opened after Oakwood, and it was reserved for the elite of Spartanburg.

What needs to be done is to make sure her memorial is switched over to West Oakwood where mine is & I will delete mine. Do you know how to change the cemetery for yours? Or I can turn mine over to you & you can keep all the photos I put on & add your biography & delete yours. You choose which way is best for you.
