My Grandfather Slaughter (Sam Houston) was the third child of John Thomas and Rachel Catherine Bullion Slaughter, born 4 March 1863. So far as I know, I am the only surviving grandchild of Sam Houston and Laura Louella Pennell Slaughter. I am also the only surviving person,of my generation, of the union of Jesse Brown Battle and Sallie Herrin Salter. I have one son and one daughter. My daughter has three chidren. One of her children has three children, one has two children. My brother has one daughter, living, and she has two daughters, living. One of her daughters has three children. The second daughter is unmarried (as of December 2011).
