RE: Gassler memorial Honestly I'd like to see you move your photo to the memorial with the burial photo posted on it! I don't care if Iriss posted hers first... she copied the obit and chose a random location... at least make a few phones if a cemetery wasn't named. As far as I'm concerned credit should be given to the contributor who cared enough to show more accurate work!
Contributors who write big lists or conditions they expect others to honor or respect their memorials, sometimes need to be put in their place.
Yes, there are guidelines Find A Grave has noted to follow.... this way the very closest relatives are more open to be granted any transfers... but there are certainly times when an informed family member can do a much better job following through all the details of linking relatives together and perhaps correcting mistakes found in misprinted obituaries and life stories or such.
One thing about having huge numbers for additions on this website... it takes a commitment to answer edits and to actually do these corrections. You were kind enough to reply after each contact I directed to you... the contributor Iriss, whom I am unhappy with has not once responded to her reasoning or choice behind making up the burial location and no thanks whatsoever have been offered for helping her to learn the actual property this poor woman was misrepresented at, for nearly 7 years.
Photo volunteers often give much more than their time (many times with nothing expected in return) as a service to this site and the people using it. I don't feel Iriss would be loosing out too much for deleting her memorial and accepting someone else really did the work and perhaps a better job in remembrance for Mary Drenth's gravesite...
# 121526952 Daryl Daryl "Dee" Marie St. John Wheeler (1940 - 2008) - Find A ... www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid... Find a Grave Dec 23, 2008 - Daryl "Dee" Marie Wheeler, 68, Inverness, died Sunday, December 21, ... 1, 1940, in Rochester, NY, to the late William and Helen St. John and from NY
She is not at all related to My Charles Wheeler and wife Katie Woods Wheeler my grandparents I would like to keep their pages. I do not know how this got on their pages.
I phoned the cemetery last week, your photo IS on the memorial that is giving the wrong location. I contacted that creator with an edit around the same time I first wrote to you, I don't think she has changed any details yet. I noticed she is a friend of yours... maybe you could ask her if she intends to do anything about having posted misleading info?
I realize everyone usually has good intentions adding their work here on Find A Grave. I simply value those who have verified some kind of proof rather than just listing from the obituaries.
My friend lost her dad last summer, his obit read he will be buried at a named cemetery at a later date... this creator has no idea the family are holding his ashes until his widow dies.... sadly that person implies the cemetery is his currently connected location, the family hopes it may be another 20 years on more before he will be found there!
Kindly do what you can to influence some correct actions with your friend's error... as you mentioned you posted that photo from obtaining it from the funeral home, there is perhaps some responsibility on your part now also - to remove any known false information out of respect for that person's memory. The actual cemetery location is connected by name, to that same funeral home you said you posted your photo from.
Mary Katherine Gassler Drenth Hello, You posted a profile photo on a memorial for her... did you happen to notice there is another memorial, created for her at a different cemetery - existing with a posted photo there of her burial stone?
Just wondered if you might know which is her correct location, since you owned/took the photo you posted of her?
RE: Marjorie Day Hi Doris., Here's the website address for the South Euclid Saint Johns Lutheran Cemetery on FindaGrave: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&CRid=43096&CScn=saint+john&CScntry=4&CSst=37&CScnty=2057&, in South Euclid, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, at 4386 Mayfield Road.
It's a common mistake - the two churches are both in Cuyahoga County and were founded by the same group of German Lutherans, so there are even a lot of names in common. But one is on the far east side of the Cleveland metropolitan area and the other is in a more southern suburb.
Hope that helps you to get the memorial in the correct place! Thank you for your work.
