Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in South Bend IN and raised in Elkhart IN, and moved to southwestern Illinois, near St Louis MO, after a four-year tour with the US Air Force when I graduated from high school. I have always been fascinated by cemeteries ever since I was a young child, especially small family cemeteries. In the last 30-plus years, I have delved into my family genealogy on my father's (Bjornstad) and mother's (Denson) side. My paternal grandfather, Kristian Bjornstad, immigrated from Norway in the early 1900s, eventually settling in eastern North Dakota. His oldest brother had an interest in the Bjornstad genealogy and he compiled the family record into a book and had it published in Oslo Norway in 1943, which traces the family origins to the first king of Norway. I have used it as a reference when submitting memorials for my father's ancestors on Find A Grave. On my mother's side, a distant cousin, Dr. Marion E. Denson of Columbia TN (now deceased) published a genealogy book in 1997 on the Denson families in America, tracing them back to the mid-1600s, when a William Denson came from England and settled in southern Virginia, near the present-day city of Norfolk. This book has been a great source of reference for my Find A Grave memorials pertaining to my Denson ancestors. Additionally, I want to give special thanks to Ronald C. Denson of Birmingham AL (now deceased) who also compiled a genealogy of my Denson ancestors which was very helpful.

I also want to give special thanks to my wife, Angela Bjornstad, for her help in formatting the photos that I have posted to Find A Grave.

Thank you for the extremely well written biography of John F. Kennedy. You handled the explanation of his assassination as well and as honestly as I have seen. I am going to read other bios you have written.
Sincerely,
RoseBud

MENDEL RIVERS--OLIN JOHNSTON
I don't know what possessed you to write such a wonderful description on Mendel Rivers who is not really related to me but in my records, but I would love for you to write something as spectacular on a cousin of mine Governor Olin Dewitt Talmadge Johston also of South Carolina. Is that too much to ask. NO is ok if you don't or can't or whatever.

EXCELLENT job!! Some would have focused on his troubles and trashed him, but you showed respect. Thank you.

RE: Borgny Bjornstad Larson
Yes that would be me but I don't think of myself as a professor as I was a mechanic repairing injection pumps and nozzles and went from that to teaching it. I have been retired for 26 years now and spend the winter months in the Rio Grande Valley of TX. During the summer I spend 2 months in ND and MN visiting friends and relation. Where do you live?

You have done a wonderful job in recording family history where others can take advantage of it. I have been using Geni since 2009 and just recently found out about this site. So now I can use both of them. Sanford, Borgny's husband, was my brother and I know that I have met her brothers but it was a long time ago. Keep up the good work.

Thank you, for the memorial on my Great-Grandfather Townsend:

"Cap, thank you for your military service to our country. You were quite a colorful character, always wanting to pull harmless practical jokes on people. I enjoyed those fossil-seeking field trips that you, my Dad, and I would go on in the northern Indiana/southern Michigan area. I also loved going over to your house on West Franklin Street with my Dad. Your house was like a museum with all of the sea shells, fossils, military swords and insignias, arrowheads, and miscellaneous trivia stuff that you had on display. May you rest in peace.- William Bjornstad"

Although I never remember meeting him, this made me giggle because my Grandmother, Anita Townsend Norviel, had some of these beautiful trinkets and hand-crafted pieces. She would open the curio doors and let us look at the pieces; there were two that I was reminded of in re: his practical jokster side. The first, was a small tin--the lid was on quite tightly so you really had to pull--when the lid came off out popped a green fabric covered snake (which was actually a fabric covered spring)! Scared several of us Grandkids!

Second was the "Bullet Box", to look at it , it looks like a beautiful jewelry box. But, as soon as you lift the lid, the bullets fall apart-off the base; and you think that you have broken one of Grandmaís treasures from her Dad, and it will not go back together! Then, she comes back to your heartfelt tears of apology and shows you how to reassemble it! (It would only reassemble when turned upside down.)

Thank you for triggering these memories, although I donít remember ever meeting him, I knew a part of him through my Grandmother, and saw another part of her as well!

Thank you!
Bobbi
