Seen a little of many places, met sweet folks, met some mean ones, too....... findAgravers are the same ;0)

Lost some dear folk, so I appreciate those who are still around and find comfort in the memories, which have been experienced, remembered, cherished, and passed down.

Personally, I make a lot of mistakes, but I do try to be kind, honest, and giving. Some may disagree, but most don't. My life is a work-in-progress, I can try my best, but I've the joy of working from a better stance, for I've been forgiven and am loved by God Almighty Himself! Amazing.

God loves you, too. He came, as Jesus, to forgive, to restore, to bring fulfillment and abiding peace. He will do so, if you but ask Him to do so. He created you with a plan and a purpose!

Read the Bible, talk to Him, follow Him, and He will show you the way.

John 3:16-17,
Romans 3:23 and 6:23 and 10:9-11;
II Corinthians 5:17;
I Corinthians 15:51-58;
and Colossians 3:1-4.

Biggest blessing of my life -
Knowing Jesus the Messiah.

I pray you know Him too.
Regardless, happy family-history hunting!

Steen cemetery
Someone was looking for the Steen cemetery. I have been there in the last year and it is still intact. There is a fairly new home in front of the cemetery. The people living at the house can be helpful and can show you where the homeplace was. However, they have several dogs. The small one will bite!!
Thanks for your input on Louisann. Don't know where I got the incorrect date of death.

You have a very good outline of Richard Rochester. If you will send me your email I will send some other things to you. Richard was in the Civil War. There was a Julia and a Tulula Eubanks. Richard married Julia.

Lula Eubanks was Julia Eubanks. I thought as you did but when I got her death certificate it was Julia.

Minter was my husband's grandfather. You didn't leave anything for me to change.

Meneley Family
I have been researching the Meneley Family for over 35 years now, looking for parents or relatives of George C. Meneley, born 19 Nov 1811 in Shenandoah County, VA; he died on 23 October 1867 in Gonzales County, TX. The only connection that I have found back that far is his brother, William M. Meneley, born about 1830 in Virginia and died 31 Dec 1863 in Matagorda Bay, Matagorda County, TX. George C. Meneley's son is found on the 1885 Kansas State Census Collection listing him as Jefferson Meneally, 28, farmer, born in Texas who came to Kansas from Texas. He is living with C. P. Evertson, 60, and his wife, Mary, 56, in Lincoln Township, Osage County Kansas. (Mary was Mary Meneley, daughter of Joseph B. Meneley. C. P. Evertson's first wife was Catherine Meneley, sister to Mary.) This leads me to believe that they might be kin. Have you found any of these names in your research or could you suggest anything that might help me with this brick wall? Most sincerely, Jeanne Walshak Boothe

Dodge & Lynde
Hi June Bug,
Sorry it's taken me so long to answer your GenForum post--it's a long story, but at least I found you.
Many thanks for the info. you sent. I had much of the same info., except for one very important piece--that Adelia Lynde was a Dodge too! I had her maiden name as Crouch, but that must have been a first married name?
I am a direct descendant of Benjamin Lawrence, who was almost certainly Eunice (Lawrence) Dodge's brother. In 1802 Eunice gave a mortgage for $400 on 1.5 acres in Claremont to Benjamin. I think I know who their parents were, but have yet to document it.
I think John Dodge died about 1855 and Eunice about 1861. The old listing on Findagrave had their graves as that of children, aged 7 and 3. Those old stones were nearly illegible,though, and I believe those age numbers were probably 87 and 93. That would fit in the date range we have.
Edwin, whose descendants you are tracing, I have as son of Lucy Heald. Interesting, since my Mom's sister married a Heald and I have Heald cousins in Ohio. Their family was originally from Mass., I believe.
Denny and Eunice's son, John Dodge Lynde, did live in Philadelphia. He was quite an inventor, and developed one of the first aerosol dispensers. His 1862 patent is witnessed by his father, Denny. John died Nov. 28, 1911 in Haddonfield, N.J., according to his obit. in the Philadelphia Inquirer.
I hope this is helpful and look forward to exchanging additional info.

thanks for bringing the duplicate entries of these to my attention; the ones I maintain are the original ones and are in the right cemetery; the other entry holder had the entries located in Grayson County
