I started tracing my family tree in 1997. I live in San Diego and have to do much of my work long distance and have often depended on the kindness of strangers. |
When I found Findagrave I saw it as a way to honor my ancestors and provide help to those who have loved ones buried here. Not everyone in my family gets this, but I enjoy tramping through cemeteries.
Unless otherwise stated, I don't consider my photographs to be copyrighted. If you wish to use them for family histories, please feel free to do so (though it would be kind to let me know).
I continue to look for opportunities to expand the Findagrave database. If you see my virtual cemetery list, you can see that I have a number of Catholic clergy there. Priests, monks, brothers, and nuns are all celibate and don't have children to visit their graves. Bearing that in mind I like to think this increases the number of visitors they receive.

Thank you very much for your quick edits. And thank you for all of the time and effort you put into making this site a success. It is very much appreciated!
I stopped in to visit Joseph Rainville. He's related to the 'orphan' I found in a local cemetery by the name of Julius Rainville. I'm looking for his relatives to find a clue as to why he's the only one here. So far, I've only succeeded in confirming that he is the only one here, and that's just not customary. Now I want to know why.
It looks as if your Joseph is kind of like my Julius... surrounded by family, but still hanging out alone.
I'll grab the photo if you don't mind. Thanks for doing what you do. :)

My ancestor was a member of this society and her tombstone was built by them. Feel free to add her to your list.

I added some clearer pictures of the Monument for your Memorial for Mr. Kroenert.
FYI; The Monument is in danger of collapsing.

Hi, The museum would be happy to take over administration of Ah Quin's grave. And feel free to come check out our exhibit about him if you are ever downtown.

I have found the graves of Osithe (Allain) Melanson and Calixte Melanson's siblings. The only problem is the their father, Meleme Allain died in St. Antoine and I could not find his grave. So, I added it an put that he was buried in St. Antoine Cemetery with a note to have anyone let me know exactly where he was buried. Anyways, could you please add Meleme Allain as the father of Osithe (Allain) Melanson (58911322) and Calixte Allain (28064635). Melame Allain find a grave number is 129365441. Then you will also see all of the other children's headstones and where they were buried. ---- Norman
