I started tracing my family tree in 1997. I live in San Diego and have to do much of my work long distance and have often depended on the kindness of strangers. |
When I found Findagrave I saw it as a way to honor my ancestors and provide help to those who have loved ones buried here. Not everyone in my family gets this, but I enjoy tramping through cemeteries.
Unless otherwise stated, I don't consider my photographs to be copyrighted. If you wish to use them for family histories, please feel free to do so (though it would be kind to let me know).
I continue to look for opportunities to expand the Findagrave database. If you see my virtual cemetery list, you can see that I have a number of Catholic clergy there. Priests, monks, brothers, and nuns are all celibate and don't have children to visit their graves. Bearing that in mind I like to think this increases the number of visitors they receive.

Esp, I just read your Bio, I'm so glad you joined Find A Grave, and that you are so kind to be thinking of other people and helping them by sharing info on this website. I totally understand how you feel about having this info available to others because we can't all travel to see the gravesites.
I too enjoy helping others and when I walk through a cemetery, I find it peaceful. Thanks for helping others, your friend in genealogy, Sharon of Michigan

Thank you so much for taking the time to photograph Annabelle's marker. I live in Colorado. I tried to go in and edit the birth date to Dec 13 1897 and her death date as Sept 17 1952. I have been looking for Annabelle Payne for a long time. I am not sure how to do this her Daughter is Antoinette Zimmerley Thompson 10 Nov 1926-6 Aug 2010 buried at Riverside National Cemetery with her Husband Richard M Thompson 12 Sept 1916 - 27 June 2003 Her son Dwight Daniel Long, Jr is buried at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. Thank you and God Bless
