I started tracing my family tree in 1997. I live in San Diego and have to do much of my work long distance and have often depended on the kindness of strangers. |
When I found Findagrave I saw it as a way to honor my ancestors and provide help to those who have loved ones buried here. Not everyone in my family gets this, but I enjoy tramping through cemeteries.
Unless otherwise stated, I don't consider my photographs to be copyrighted. If you wish to use them for family histories, please feel free to do so (though it would be kind to let me know).
I continue to look for opportunities to expand the Findagrave database. If you see my virtual cemetery list, you can see that I have a number of Catholic clergy there. Priests, monks, brothers, and nuns are all celibate and don't have children to visit their graves. Bearing that in mind I like to think this increases the number of visitors they receive.

Thank you so much for taking the photos of the Hollenbeck stones for me. You filled in a wife for William B. for me that I didn't have yet.

Yes, if you would like to transfer I would be happy to maintain her memorial. My research is from the Grommesh line.
Thanks for all your contributions to Find A Grave.
Happy New Year.

Thank you very much for your quick edits. And thank you for all of the time and effort you put into making this site a success. It is very much appreciated!
I stopped in to visit Joseph Rainville. He's related to the 'orphan' I found in a local cemetery by the name of Julius Rainville. I'm looking for his relatives to find a clue as to why he's the only one here. So far, I've only succeeded in confirming that he is the only one here, and that's just not customary. Now I want to know why.
It looks as if your Joseph is kind of like my Julius... surrounded by family, but still hanging out alone.
I'll grab the photo if you don't mind. Thanks for doing what you do. :)
